I know she wants to play the role badly, but I have to say, I don't see Mae playing Franny. If anything I see her as Jane. The role is more suited for her, especially with her quirky dress sense, and Jane's eye for fashion.

I was thinking the same to about Deana. I really hope Lauren gets to star is this, as well as produce.

I don't know who I see as Franny - I've been trying to think about it. Maybe the main girl from Pretty Little Liars would be good. We know she HAS to be a brunette - if they go blonde bombshell I'll get

So a brunette who can talk incredibly quickly with a smart vocabulary and the dramatic acting skills to pull off Franny's vulnerability and insecurity? I know a lot of people are pulling for Leighton Meester.....

"Parenthood" star Lauren Graham is looking to add a role behind the camera. Graham, whose first novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, was published in April, is hoping to take the book's main character - a struggling young actress in New York - to television. "Ellen DeGeneres' company optioned it, and we're pitching it as a TV show next week," Graham said after an NBC news conference on Saturday. "I'm writing the pilot. It's my baby, and I feel very protective of the material," Graham said. "It's been a really fun adaptation to do, and I think could make a really fun TV show that isn't too showbiz-y - because that's not what the book is, either - it's just about young people, trying to make it in New York, which to me is always an appealing story." Her main character is "definitely not a lead in the classic sense. I always viewed myself more as wacky next-door neighbor, rather than ingenue. And that's the lead of the show, and of the book. She's a sort of slightly left of center, off, funny."
