We´d like to bring to your attention that we have a new rule about pics at fanforum (updated 17th October). Some of you know the rule already but for those who arent reading the official fan forum rules i´ll post it once again

10) Do not post the same picture over and over in a thread. Don't quote pictures - if you quote someone, please edit out the image before submitting your reply. If you don't follow these rules, your picture(s) will be deleted. Also, please note that when you post pictures directly from another website, you’re basically using that site's bandwidth. Every time someone at FF views the picture on our boards, the owner of the website that hosts the image gets charged for bandwidth use. This is known as "bandwidth theft." We would prefer it if you'd post a text link to the picture using the [url] tag instead of displaying the picture in a post using the [img] tag, because then the owner of the website only gets charged for bandwidth if people click on the link.

Also we´d like you to know that if you are posting pics from your privat account (no bandwith) please do not post more than 5 pics in one post. Please use links for the rest of it.

Some of us (Cher for example) are having dial ups at home and it takes them ages to download the page

i have dsl and sometimes it takes much time to open the pages with dsl too but i really think thats a good new rule

Thank you for posting this, Suzie. And bringing it to everyone's attention. We are not singling anyone out with this particular annoucement but we've seen several people post massive amounts of pictures and thought this kind of annoucement would be the best.

I was on dial-up for a long time and know how long picture heavy threads can take to load. It can be quite annoying, especially if it's a quoted picture. Drives me nuts and is one of my pet peeves.

Question: Would it be possible to have one thread just for links to pics and discussions about the pics and another thread with the actual pics only (no discussions) for those of us who hate links and have fast hookups?

Suzie and I have discussed this and we feel at this time that two threads one for links and one for pictures is out of the question. It's a waste of bandwidth for Fan Forum and the bandwidth of the where you are linking the pictures from. Post 5 pictures on a thread and the rest are links. I'm sorry you don't like links, but some people don't like the waiting forever for the pictures to load. We thought it would be an equal compromise.
