I found this short review of Parenthood it is mostly about Camille but its a pretty funny and sweet about Bonnie Bedelia and her character.

Graham continues playing the middle ground as a mother and daughter in NBC’s “Parenthood,” which features Bonnie Bedelia as the Braverman clan’s matriarch, Camille, a California hippie whose golden years are spent taking painting classes, volunteering at a soup kitchen, looking after her grown children and their children, and working through issues of intimacy with her husband. She’s a mellow grandma, the embodiment of a Berkeley state-of-being. As Bedelia plays her, it’s difficult to know when Camille is upset, if she ever is; her demeanor is so go-with-the-flow. But it works. The Braverman family is large, loud and loopy enough to need a calm soul at its center, and Camille fits the bill.

Parenthood | Here’s hoping that the holiday season gifts you with much Kleenex, because before the NBC charmer’s third season wraps (on Feb. 28), Max is going to get a true blue, genuine f-r-i-e-n-d. I’d tell you more about how the lads, who are veritable twins, meet, and how Kristina and Adam react to the news of their first playdate, but we’d all get preemptively weepy, and as Tom Hanks once famously said, “There’s no crying in spoilers!”

Parenthood (NBC) NBC’s Parenthood appears to be the heir apparent to the type of emotion-based storytelling that Friday Night Lights in its day achieved seemingly so effortlessly. It’s no small feat to make three generations of a family—from little kids and teens to grandparents—engaging and commanding in their own rights, but Parenthood does so with a deft hand, delighting in focusing on withdrawn Max (Max Burkholder), brittle Kristina (Monica Potter), or perennial screw-up Crosby (Dax Shepard) with equal weight as Mae Whitman’s rebellious Amber or any other member of the family. Lauren Graham’s Sarah remains capable of reducing me to tears with a gulp or downcast eye; Erika Christensen’s Julia has emerged as a strong, radiant presence; and Peter Krause and Potter’s attempts to connect with their autistic son give this outstanding show a great deal of heft and painful realism. It’s rare for an hour to make you laugh and cry in equal measure, but Parenthood walks that delicate line with both care and grace.
