I just emailed Nadine a question about sides but $5 a year is nothing and well worth it IMO.

the fact that they will have 13 scrpits all done before even starting shooting makes me feel safe. There´s a chance that the story arc will be well-thoughtout, no crazy jumps at the end.

It's kinda nice they will have much of the season shot before the pilot airs which mean if the unthinkable happens and the show is canceled then we're likely to get the rest of the season in some format. Of course I hope the show has every success but networks are too quick to drop the axe these days. It also is a sign of confidence in the project as they wouldn't want to spend the money and not air the eps, if you get what I mean.

Lauren starring in a new tv series starting February 2010!

YEAHHHHHHHH! Fans are shouting „yeahh!“ as they raise their clenched fists purposefully towards heaven. Yeah, yeah, yeah, she is back! Back where she belongs! Back where we want to see her. Where words turn into pictures – Lauren is finally back on TV starring in a new TV series and so the wheel has come full circle. Or better to say, she finally ends her out of TV period, a time when she did not want to commit herself to a particular medium or genre.

It has been a new Lauren Graham who wanted to find herself at the end of the “Gilmore Girls”. Still it was not an extreme “make over” as pop icons like Madonna do. There was neither a change of hair color nor a change in dress style.
Lauren worked in cinema where she was not forced to cause laughter in 1,5 second periods.

And she satisfied her heart’s desire being part of a Broadway musical. However, we do not want to reheat the “Guys and Dolls” story of success and failure. She did her best, gained new experience and possibly showed critics that she can do more than read and speak fast dialogue.

Now the pack is being reshuffled. A TV series, back to the parents’ league, Lauren once again as single mother.

”Parenthood“, as the new series is named, is based on the corresponding movie made in 1989. A first attempt to turn the movie into a TV series failed in 1990.
Ron Howard produces the series as he produced the movie years ago. He is neither an unknown nor an inexperienced producer in the film business.

But it has also to be said that Lauren’s role was originally given to Maura Tierney who left the production when she contracted cancer.

However, Lauren beat out Helen Hunt who had also been discussed for the role of “Sarah“.

Now she is back as a single mum and people may certainly discuss and shake their heads asking themselves whether there is no wider variety of roles for women about the age of 40.

Family TV series have always promised good viewing rates: Regardless of whether they are close to nature and peaceful like the “Waltons”, rich and scheming like “Dallas” and “Dynasty” snappy and cynical like Al Bundy in “Married… With Children” or adorable and chaotic like the “Gilmore Girls”, family TV series attract whole families to the TV-set.

But which other roles could possibly be offered? Lawyers, policewomen, doctors or housewives, either desperate or not. Those are the stereotypes that are commonly shown.

Yet it hast to be doubted that her daughter will be a low-maintenance angel like our Rory since one of Lauren’s reasons for taking the role was the fact that the living circumstances of “Sarah” and her daughter are closer to reality than those of her former protagonist Lorelai.

Nonetheless, we have got to be curious how the series will be received by the audience and how Lauren will identify herself with her new role.
Well, Lauren will certainly have less screen time than she had in “Gilmore Girls”, that is a fact fans have to face and cope with. This time, the "TV-earth" called Lauren is moving around the sun called “TV series” and not vice versa.

But if the show is well received by the audience, our universe will fill with “new stars” called fans who will join us, sharing their impressions, taking part in our discussions, and offering new topics of conversation.

The coming weeks and months will certainly cause lots of conversation.

YEAHHH! Fists are clenching again. She is definitely back and this is a damned good feeling!

While I'd love to see Lauren in some other kinds of parts other than the traditional mother roles I think this will be good for her.

Also again with the 'starting February 2010' is that hype or did they bring it forward to before the winter games?

Yeah a bit late and a little disrespectful for all involved, this is the kind of poll that should have been done at the hight of the speculation and rumors that Lauren was up for the part. Not now when they are about to re-shoot the pilot.

I would give just about anything for this show to start VERY soon!!! Sooner than it's going to lol. We need Lauren back in our lives on a regular basis . . . we've been very lucky with a few interviews and such, but something is missing somehow. We've managed great post counts during this in-between projects phase, but the energy is different.

It will be GREAT when the publicity goes full-force and there's new episodes each week! To see her on a tv show again is going to be a great thing.

This place will be hopping!

I totally agree. I can't wait for her to be back on my weekly television screen! Hopefully there will also be a lot of good promotion before the show starts! Which would be very likely of course. But then we get to see her even sooner again.
