Val, it's nice that Jay's sister will stop by! He must be happy to have lots of family visiting so far. :)

It's supposed to rain here for the next week (thanks to Tropical Storm Joaquin), which I'm not thrilled about. :(

It is really nice. :) I think she'll be the last one for a while, but still, I'm happy he gets to see them. :)

We're starting our lindy hop class tonight. I hope there's an equal number of girls and guys so we can dance together, but I don't think so. We'll rotate.

Thanks for the new thread, Val!

Your lindy hop class sounds like a lot of fun. :D

valeposh 10-02-2015 07:16 AM

It is! I mean, right now we're awkward and such, but I'm hoping we'll get better! Plus they do 4 nights of free dancing every week, so once we get a little less awful we'll try and exercise more. :D

Danke 10-02-2015 07:31 AM

Why did you choose this dance, Vale?:) I prefer waltz and polka:D

Any plans for the weekend? Dave´s sister is 30 this Sunday so we have some family lunch tomorrow.

Waltz and polka (at least here) are very much for old people here. :P
Lindy hop is full of young people, and it's all with jazz/swing music, which I love.

We're celebrating my nephew's birthday Sunday as well! He turns 3 tomorrow, but we're doing the party on Sunday. Jay and I are making the cake, and I'll share a pic if (hopefully) it turns out alright. :) The weather here is rainy all weekend, which sucks, but at least I'm not working!

CohenGal 10-06-2015 02:01 PM

Val, the cake you made looked fabulous! How was the party?
The Lindy looks like fun to me. :D

This week seems to be going by really slowly so far.

The party was fun, to be a 3yo party. ;) He really liked the cake, dropped his toy the second he saw the cake! :D
I agree, this week is going slowly. We're going to Expo this weekend though. :D

CohenGal 10-08-2015 12:41 PM

Nice! Have fun at the Expo. :)

I'm skipping school tomorrow (sshhhh) to go to New York Comic Con, and we don't have school on Monday for Columbus Day, so I'm excited about having a long weekend now!

Danke 10-08-2015 01:56 PM

Claire - long weekend sounds great, have fun!

Vale - Enjoy Expo and tell us how it was:)

We are going to opera with Dave´s great aunt tomorrow. We are seeing Rigoletto. It is not really my thing so I hope it is short or something. lol

Rigoletto is fun!! I saw it a few years ago. :D But I also understand Italian, so maybe it was easier for me. ;)
Claire, that's so cool that you have a 4-days weekend! :D I'm off tomorrow as well. Last year Jay and I were in NY around Comic Con time (remember?) and there were a lot of people dressed up in the streets. :D

CohenGal 10-08-2015 03:31 PM

I've seen Rigoletto too and also liked it, and I'm not a huge opera fan or anything. :D Enjoy!

Val, enjoy your day off! I do remember that last year; at first we were confused about why so many people were dressed up. :D

Nice. Are you allowed to do that as a teacher? lol Have fun at Comic Con. :D

Katka - I thought constantly of you at work today cause German google celebrates 605 years of prague's astronomical clock today :D

Not much going on in my life rigth now. Since I moved up at work I'm working even more but I love it. But I slowly I feel that I need vacation, only had 7 vacation days so far this year. But long vacation days are coming up luckily. :D

Cool! :D What are you planning for your long vacation? It's really great that you love your job, it certainly makes the long hours easier. :) It's the same for me.
I attempted a NY cheesecake for a dinner with friends tonight but I'm afraid I don't know our new oven very well. :P

I'm flying home to my parents place for a week, my dad celebrates his 60th birthday in November and then I will go to New York and Washington. ;)

I'm making a video for my dad's birthday and my mom is sending me all those old pics I've never seen of my dad and some are hilarious, he looked like a spy back in the 80s. (maybe he was :look:)

Vale - I hope your cake is tasty :D

Only if I don't get caught. :D And it was fun! I was mostly there for OUAT and I was in the front row, which made me happy. Then I went to The Walking Dead premiere at MSG, which was really cool. We watched the new episode and then they brought the whole cast out for a panel and some fun shenanigans (including lots of former cast members).

Ele, you've definitely got a great vacation to look forward to!
It's funny to see old photos of your parents, isn't it?

Val, I hope your cheesecake turned out!
