Hey Denise!
That looks cool, although I'm not sure I'd be able to do it without having a heart attack.
I thought the same about Claire not being at the NYC marathon, but I guess if you live there it kinda loses its appeal quickly.
Hope everyone's feeling rested for the upcoming week!

Haha I think most New Yorkers want to get out of the city during the marathon because of the hassle it causes. I was happy to be away. I'm on my way home from DC now. I crammed so much walking and sightseeing into the weekend that I'm ready to get home and fall asleep (it was a lot of fun, though).

Denise, that sounds cool! Val, what did you dress up as for the dinner party?

We were Mr and Mrs Incredible again. We used the same as last year, but we were in a place where nobody knew us last year. We also dressed up at home for my nephew yesterday. He was halfway amused and scared.
Morning off for me, I work from 3pm to 10pm. Shifts are killing me.

Katka - I thought you had no free days left saw your pic, lovely

Claire - you need to tell me what's worth to see in DC when we meet

I went to visit a wild life park over the weekend, it was pretty cool, they had a show where they let the birds fly and showed several hunting techniques with the birds (and a dog), I've never seen it before in my life.

8 more days left at work - unfortunately Lufthansa announced strikes today starting on Friday for a week, my first flight is next Friday, I hope my plane is not one of them

Awww. Did you meet Krakonoš? I miss Saxony a teeny tiny bit.

I'm riding my bike everyday to work but now the time starts where I'm almost frozen on my bike in the morning. Bavaria has pretty cold winters and Munich is already 600m high. Also I can kinda see the mountains with the snow on the horizont and it's like nature warning about what will come lol.

It's starting to be chilly here as well. Do you plan on keeping riding your bike throughout the winter?

Uh oh, Ele, I hope your flights aren't affected by the strike! And we can definitely chat about DC; there's waaayyyy too much to do there!

The weather is so weird here; it's been in the 70's (which is incredibly warm for November), but they already turned on the heat in my school and can't turn it off, so my classroom feels like a sauna, even with all the windows wide open.

Krakonoš is in Giant Mountains, we were in Riesengebirge/Ore Mountains.lol

It´s below zero here in the morning, too. Pretty cold. I guess it´s time to take out the winter jacket.lol

Lol, we had the warmest November 3rd ever yesterday. It's still around 17 degrees here! I'm not complaining at all. Today there's no sun unfortunately, but if there's sun we can still go out without a jacket

Ele, I hope your flight isn't affected! I'm so jealous of your New York trip. I need a trip to look forward to as well.

I'm sick at the moment Started on Sunday. I'm feeling a bit better today though. Couldn't do much more than laying in bed yesterday and Monday. Hopefully today will be good and will be able to get back to work tomorrow.

Oh Denise, I hope you feel better soon!! Sending warm tea your way.
Claire, it's been very warm here too, around 16-17C in the warmest hours of the day. Not complaining though, the few times I'm able to enjoy it I've loved it. It's weird to see Christmas lights on though. I can understand how it'd be annoying as a work environment.

I've just finished a 2-day emergency ultrasound course where I was a model. I was covered in gel. Pout. Definitely enjoyed my shower.

But but but, Giant mountains means Riesengebirge in German, and Riesengebirge is where Krakonoš lives. Maybe you mean Erzgebirge (judging from the Czech name)?

Denise - Did you run while being sick? That's dedication. Hope you feel better soon.

And the weather is really nice here too. I love it. I sat on my balcony in shorts and t-shirt last weekend. Pretty awesome.

Vale - yeah, I'm riding my bike all through winter, cold isn't actually that bad, if it rains cats and dogs it's way worse lol. And a 2 day ultrasound section sounds weird.

I'm trying to get a patient back from Indonesia via ambulance plance at the moment at work but due to a volcano the airport in Bali is closed. This is the second time this happens this year. Volcanos shouldn't be allowed lol.
