| Michelle, I was in Sydney for the fourth of July when I was there. Funnily enough, there were fireworks! Not sure what the occasion was, but we felt right at home.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!Thanks for the hugs, everyone. My fam drove me back into the city today (with tons of boxes that are now filling up my already cramped apartment) and we had a nice dinner and saw God of Carnage, so that helped my mood.  It just feels weird knowing I can't hop on a train and be back at home. Denise, congrats, that's really great! | |||

| Thanks Claire! By the way, I thought of you when I went to see the penguins on Phillip Island . . . apparently Dakota Fanning has been there as well because they have a pic of her watching the penguins. Claire, I'm glad the theater helped your stress. I hope this big transition goes well for you and your family.  And yay for Denise! I feel less homesick now - here in Melbourne they have a sign saying "Happy 4th of July USA" in Federation Square and they're flying US flags! | yeah, Happy 4th July to americans I was in US on 4th July 3 years ago but sadly I stayed in some woody area in the outskirt of Raleigh, NC and haven´t see anything.lolI´ll spend my day in our cottage. it´s over 30C so I´m planning to get some tan and read on the garden. | it's still so hot here as well. And of course the day I want to go to the beach it will start raining and be cold again  And I can't enjoy the weather today, since I have to work in an hour.. At least we have air conditioning there! | |||

| Happy 4th everyone!!!! Claire, i'm sorry about your house that must be really hard on you Shannon - lol! We just watched Independance Day here too, it's our yearly tradition ever since we all went to see it at the cinema when it was released! The fireworks were awesome I had to stand off the beach though cos my little cousin Claire was scared of them. We all got trashed again & ended up going for a swim in the ocean at like 3am - never been so cold!!! We then broke into the neighbours house to get more booze but all we managed to get was maple syrup, marinade and a half drunk bottle of wine lol! | Haha, I just found out that my ex boyfriend's wife is 8 months pregnant (she's 22...). It's sooo weird.
