Ok, I’m trying this again. It seems a little anti-climactic now since I’ve had time to come down from the moment while I waited an hour for my computer to sort itself out.
The show was amazing and I was so proud of Lauren. But let me start at the beginning. First off, I have never seen any Guys & Dolls before, so my opinion is only based on this performance. I had dinner across the street before the show, and I know my ticket was in my pocket when I left the restaurant. I went back across the street, and I decided to run up to my hotel room real quick to grab something. When I got to my room and grabbed my walled out of my coat pocket, MY TICKET WAS MISSING!!!! I panicked and said “f*** me!” I found my receipt from the ticket and ran back to the elevator hoping it was on the floor somewhere. It wasn’t in the elevator. I was going to try and retrace my steps to the restaurant hoping it was on the ground somewhere. When I got to the lobby the desk staff got my attention and said I dropped my ticket and they had it. I was soooo thankful and thanked them profusely. I was seriously about to have a panic attack. I got over to the theatre and got in line. I heard a woman in like say it was too bad the reviews were poor, because all the people she knew who had seen the show said it was great. So that was nice to hear. Got into the theatre and I was surprised at how small and intimate it seemed. I was in the right orchestra. I was about halfway between aisles, over enough that the right side of the screen was cut off, but not so that I missed any action on stage. Any action I missed on stage was from the tall guy in front of me. Lol. I thought all of the cast were great. I didn’t have any problems with Oliver, although I guess you could say he didn’t really “stand out”. But I didn’t think he sucked or anything. Craig and Kate were great too. But Lauren was awesome. I really loved her. I thought her accent was fine, and I didn’t hear any of the so called “shrieking”. Her singing voice was great. She was very playful and it looked like she was having a lot of fun. And I loved watching her dance and strip. I was seriously so proud of her I was almost tearing up. She got the most applause of the 4 leads at the end. I am not a critic or a dancer or singer, so I don’t have a lot to say about the technical aspect because I am not a professional. I thought the sets were great and the screens didn’t distract me or anything. I thought it all looked great. I braved the cold cold weather to wait for her. She came out after about 10 -15 minutes. She signed on one side of the barricade first and was taking pics with people so I had hope I would get a picture. Then she came over to our side and she kind of passed me because I was in the back, and while I was sticking my playbill out for her to sign, Kate grabbed it and signed it. Lol. I wasn’t expecting that. So I said thanks to Kate and was being polite. Kate and Lauren were talking about a missed text message. Lauren started to come back up towards the theatre. I heard her tell someone that she wasn’t going to leave just yet as she was going to go back in since she had friends inside. I traded cameras with the person next to me and I took a picture for her and she took one for me with my camera. We traded ahead of time to make it go quicker and not have the hassle of getting a camera ready. (good tip for those going). So she came back up and I handed her my playbill and had the picture taken and she signed for a few more people and went back in the theatre. Most people left at this point, but I stuck around to see her again. While I was waiting Craig came out but he didn’t stop at all. Lauren did come out again a little while later and got right into the car. Oliver came out at the same time. I had him sign my playbill, but I was kinda mad because he sort of ended his signature right where Lauren’s started. Grr. But you can still see it. He got in the same car and off they went. I think I might go again tomorrow to the Matinee. I was going to see the evening show, but I have dinner plans with a friend that got postponed from Monday because of the weather. So I will try and get another signature tomorrow if possible. But I won’t be upset if I don’t. Seriously you all shouldn’t worry about the reviews. People are still going. Anyone going will love the show. I guarantee it. __________________

I was glad I wore socks under my tights (tee hee) and had a coat and gloves. I didn't have my hat with me, but I survived.

Lucky you found the ticket.
I really think word of mouth will help the show, maybe some TV interviews will also help and of course there is the Lauren factor with may people going to Broadway and Guys and Dolls for the first time. Good to hear you had a good time __________________

first of all thanks for the clip. finally the scenes without any voiceover. great clip. Although Im not sure if Im the biggest fan of Sue me. Oliver looks really stiff to me, to me it looks like Opera acting.lol
Christine, Im happy that you liked it. and Im glad that Lauren looked like she´s having fun. was the theatre full? Quote:
