• Birds of America - The Reeler - Lauren Graham also came in at the last second, and she's used to having to do a lot of the internal work on her own. She's very sensitive and private, and these qualities gave her an edge in the story -- an outsider quality -- that she was able to use. She doesn't like to be reassured, and when she's having difficulty, she likes a little bit of room around her. I tried to respect that without abdicating my responsibilities. She had a fine-tuned hyper vigilance about not turning her character into a cliché, and there was indeed the danger of that in the text; the wife is such a Swiss-watch of a person, high-strung and better-behaved (outwardly) than the sibs. Lauren functioned as a kind of dramaturge for the well-being of reality and truthfulness in the story itself, and I'm hugely grateful to her. She gives a bravura performance, as you'll see. - gjoni

When I saw a new thread I knew something had to of been brewing!!

This is very exciting!! I just got done saying to my mom the other day about 15 shows getting cancelled and how much tv just sucks these days, to which she replied, "well your GG couldn't last forever!"

Well now I won't have to wait to finally hopefully get another decent program to watch....and if this show is anything like Will and Grace (comedy wise) I bet it will be fantastic!!

I think this role will fit her perfectly! I hope it all works out.

But I wonder if this is an LA filmed base show or NY? Cause she's moving to NY to do G&D so I wonder what all this means for her!! She's going to be one busy gal for awhile!

He's talking about the resemblance to "Men in Trees" and so are some of the people commenting. I didn't watch that show, so have no idea.

I hope Lauren's character has "interesting" parents to deal with and perhaps a sibling or two, as well.

At the moment, I also hope Ausiello nabs some exclusive interview with her...

Well, it sounds a bit like Men in Trees but come one, the whole idea isn't that new. But it's the characters and storylines that count. I fear for Lauren regarding a successful comeback though, I mean she was the one who said her next step in TV land probably won't be a hit. Let's hope she'll be wrong.

Anyone know when filming should be starting? If we know this, then we'd also know for how long she'll be in Guys and Dolls, right?
