Yes, definitely frustrating. But I get a sense from comments she's made over the last few years, that she's more interested in the writing/production side of things rather than the acting side of things.

Could mean she's not getting offered as many acting roles, or just turning them down, or being more picky. Who knows.

She's still doing the voice for Vampirina's mom, but that's not a big role and is not really meant for a wider audience. There are still new episodes coming out, and hasn't been cancelled (that I know of).

But I hope something she's associated with come out soon.

If she is writing, I hope it is another book that will come out soon.

I miss seeing her on something new. As much as I love Gilmore Girls, after seeing it just about every day since it started I have not been watching it much for a few months and don't miss it and that is sad. I've seen a few of the new Vampirina and it doesn't even sound like Lauren anymore.

I've checked at TV guide and other than GG and Vampirina the only other thing that I find for the next two weeks is the three episodes of Law and Order and those I found under Scott Cohen. That is sad.

Nothing much new here, I just really want them to make this happen!

Lauren Graham's reunion with Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino might come sooner rather than later.

ET spoke with Sherman-Palladino ahead of the PaleyFest panel for The Marvelous Mrs. Maiselat Los Angeles' Dolby Theater on Friday, where she dished on Graham's specific request to appear on the Amazon series.

"Lauren made a request, and Lauren is my queen and the reason I have a career, so I honor the request of Lauren Graham," she said. "I'm trying to figure it out."

"Hopefully [she'll be in season three]," she added. "It would be lovely."

Sherman-Palladino revealed in early 2018 that Graham -- who starred as Lorelai Gilmore on seven seasons of Gilmore Girls (plus the Netflix follow-up) -- had been pitching her ideas to appear on Mrs. Maisel.

“Lauren wants to be something very specific,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “She has it all figured out.”

At Friday's event, Mrs. Maisel executive producer Dan Palladino confessed to ET that even he doesn't know what role Graham wants to play.

"I can't tell you the role, because then you'll know!" Sherman-Palladino teased.

Graham and Sherman-Palladino couldn't help but gush about each other while speaking with ET at the Producers Guild Awards in January.

"Literally my life changed when she walked in the door because there was no Gilmore Girls ‘til Lauren Graham existed and, you know, that is a bond,” the writer and showrunner said. "I don’t know what my life would be without you."

"Same. How many people can you say that about? That’s so bizarre,” Graham agreed. "I’m just glad we continued to be friends and lucky to have each other."

Honestly, I am a bit nervous about what she requested. But at least it's Amy who has to write her in.

I think it was Lauren who joked that she wanted to play someone with that "hooray for the bulldogs" accent because Amy liked it. That's what I can imagine. But I'm ready to be proven wrong!

That would be my guess as well. :)

Wish we knew. Sadly not much at the moment, or not much we know about. Various writing projects she's mentioned, but nothing announced.

Glad she's writing, but sadly for us, it leaves us in the dark for now. :(

kostilicious 04-26-2019 03:07 AM

I still haven't read one of her books :gone: how many has she written by now?

the_strawberry_girl 04-26-2019 03:03 PM

They're all good but different.

I think I liked "Talking As Fast As I Can" the best since it's her experiences filming Gilmore Girls.

But "Someday, Someday Maybe" is also good. It's fiction, but you can tell it's very based on Lauren's own experiences.

kostilicious 04-28-2019 02:26 AM

so it's still those two, right?

the_strawberry_girl 04-28-2019 10:58 AM

She also has another small book of essays, "In Conclusion, Don't Worry About It". It expanded from the graduation speech she gave at her old high school. Very short book, but with lots of helpful advice.
