I've only seen the pilot for SW? but I don't agree, Samantha and Lorelai are totally different. Different backgrounds, life experiences even their hair colour! The only thing the same if the person playing their best friend, even then one was her best (female) friend and the other is pretending to be.

I'm dying to see Lauren in something new, still waiting on my Evan Almighty DVD to see the extras! I hope she does a guest stint for a couple of eps on a show but I can understand her wanting some time off. I hope she's had some time off since the show finished.
