I think my favourite scene is when Lauren and Kathy Griffin are getting into a chick fight.

Well, with much effort I forced myself to get into the right mindset to watch this movie. Otherwise, I knew there'd be no chance I'd be able to appreciate this kind of humor. Anyway, I was really enjoying the movie until, with about 15 minutes left, the dvd failed to read. I tried it on 3 different dvd players and in my computer. It was a new dvd that I bought off amazon. So now I'm peeved. Anyway, here are the random notes I took down from what I did get to see:

- if my school bus driver sang hick songs like that, I think I'd ride my bike to school.

- Dill says, totally seriously. "I love those kids. They're like little people". LOL

- heehee- the old naked guy sneaking out of Kathy Griffin's trailer

- "puddin' pie", "buttercup"- I live in the south and if people here really talked like that I'd have to kill myself.

- such classy song lyrics. LMAO

- Dill says "Tina (Kathy Griffin), I love her so much". response- " You're not the only one"- bahahaha

- Dill fixing the trailer roof with duct tape. Ya gotta love duct tape!

- How is it that he's allowed to drive that school bus to Nashville?

- Personal Power Seminar in Cancun.

- Peter Berg. I had such a crush on him when he was on Chicago Hope.

- The guy with the plastic bag on his cowboy hat made me think of Lauren with the shower cap over her bike helmet.

- Oh No! Lauren's hair! Those bangs!

- I preferred Lauren's slutty Bad Santa bartender over this flakey, preachy one.

- Lauren waving her hand in front of her face with attitude... "the city of dreams my friend, the city of dreams"-

- "them boys in them plastic bubbles"- I think I just peed my pants.

- Is that the second town troubadour from GG?

- Lauren- "I think you are a dirty man..... dirty-dirt Scallion"- the way Lauren says this is too funny.

- Yet another job for Lauren. She's the Kirk of Nashville.

- OMG, that belt buckle is HUGE!

- Boy, Lauren's moral outrage sure did go straight out the window once the cameras started flashing.

- Benefit for Victims of Gingivitis! LOL

- I ache for Dill's foot.

- Oh.... Lauren/Kathy catfight! Meow!

- An outbreak of Scallionitis.... and then my dvd went kerplunk. Please, someone tell me what happens after that. I'm bummed. And Lauren sings after that too, doesn't she?

Anyway, I actually enjoyed what I saw of this movie. I just had to prepare myself, put on my stupid hat, and I was good to go.

Billy and Lauren were both very, very good in this. Excellent at acting dumb and putting on vacant expressions.

I only found it on amazon and that didn't work out so well for me. If anyone knows anywhere else to buy this, please let us know.

pm me if you want that movie

@Debbie: Dill Scallion gets more and more unsuccessful due to his own behaviour. I think he even gets sued by somebody who got hurt while doing Dill's dance. At the end they're not getting any good gigs at all so the group has to sing at a weird barnyard-y location, very funny lol. Laurens character leaves him at the end and Dill goes back home. That's what I remember.

My plans for tonight were cancelled so I decided to watch Dill. I made some notes but I wrote them with my right hand(I´m lefthanded) cos I was lying on my left hand and now I can´t read them.lol
so lets see what I remember.

- I was excited to see the yellow school bus but the talk with the kids felt so forced to me. The kids obviously weren´t kid actors.lol They really didn´t look like they cared for Dill at all.

- It was weird to hear Jason Priestly talk english.lol I´m so used to his czech voice as Brendon. I never heard him talk english before.

- Im sure the actors had to laugh a lot while shooting this movie. Some sentences were just so stupid and they had to say them with serious faces.lol

- "I gave you everything and you shared you" - I love this line.lol

- when there was the scene where they were signing a contract in a bathtub I thought that all the production people were on crack. The movie is nuts.lol

- LAUREN - I forgot that she´s in it that much. Luckily she looks better and better as the movie continues. the first scene was tragic.lol And I would like to see detail of the picture from the employee of the month poster. I had to laugh when I saw Lauren working in a diner. giggles. Her character got pretty snobby at the end of the movie. And I love that we got to hear her sing at the end and she plays a guitar too.lol

- found ridiculous that people were breaking their legs just to dance the ugly stupid Dill´s dance.

- This movie is a mess and I would never watch it without Lauren in it but at least it has some story arc, it begins and ends somewhere. So it goes a full circle.

I like the You shared you song.

It says in the credits that Sheryl Crow did the music score. I didn´t know that. wow.

I´m glad I was able to stand next to Shannon when she gave Lauren this DVD to sign.lol Lauren´s reaction could simply apply as my reaction for this whole movie.lol

I wonder why Lauren agreed to be in this movie.lol It´s not the worse Lauren´s movie, it´s just very very strange.

This is what I love. He's an absolute idiot, and he has no idea.

Isn't it hilarious?! Dirty-dirt Scallion. *giggles* That scene is one of my faves.

Glad you watched, Katka!

Bahaha, the Scallion shuffle. Isn't it just the most hideous dance ever?

"Oh my God. Seriously?"

I think these kinds of movies, you know someone who is in it, or making it and you kind of just get in there. Like The Life Coach, which is horrendous, but made by friends.

I'm hoping to watch it tomorrow night

Ok, my play-by-play turned into more of a summary of my favorite parts

First, Lauren. Kristie Sue is hilarious. I love how they go to the extreme to show how she changed. A tiara? Seriously? Hahahahaa. And I love the moment after the cat fight when she shakes the read hair out of her fingernails. Tooo funny. I also, of course, loved that we got a bit of Lauren singing

The Scallion shuffle. Oh Lord. I'm not even sure it's the same every time he does it. The most ridiculous dance ever and yet so funny that people are breaking themselves to do it.

The songs in this movie are so catchy. Ridiculous, but catchy. I mean... you remember the words still, dont you? LOL

Watching this movie always makes me remember the commentary. During Lauren's first scene, they called her while she was filming GG. How fun is that? I'm also pretty sure they commented on the insanely short skirt Lauren wears towards the end of the movie.

*sigh* This movie is pure love for me. It's tupid, but funny, and a huge departure for most of the actors involved which makes a good time for me

Thank you for mentioning this Shannon because it made me realize that I forgot to watch the extras on the dvd. I'll have to check them out.

All of these things are what I love about the movie too! Lauren is so cute and funny in it.

I have the VHS version. Lame, cause no extras - might have to try to find the dvd.

Anyhow, a couple of years ago I saw some very old version of a show that used to be on VH1 - The List. They had the Dill Scallion cast (including Lauren) host an episode. Does anyone remember this or have any idea of the show I'm talking about?!?

I recommend the DVD. The quality doesn't magically get better, but I like my DVD better than the VHS.

I don't remember anyone but Lauren, lol but I think I know what you're talking about. It's not on lauren-online? *goes to check* The only thing I remember from it is, that Lauren picked The Dixie Chicks at some point, lol.

ETA: Yep. Nothin'. Someone/Ele might have it just not on the site. I wish Canopus was still around. He had all the super old/rare stuff.

Yes, that's the one!!! I'll keep looking for it, but if anyone finds it PLEASE let us know.

I do want to get the DVD. The VHS was the only thing avaliable when I bought it a couple of years ago and, obviously, has no commentary!
