Congrats to Alex and Rachel!

And glad to see Amy back in the hat.

The show just won best comedy series, so Amy got to talk as well and was her usually hilarious self. (Wishful thinking: I wish Lauren would be included in that season 3 budget!)

Yes, she needs her cameo!

Also, I did finish Season 2 just after Christmas. I agree with your thoughts Claire, esp. about The Catskills, and the plumber!

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3: Everything We Know So Far
Quote:
About that Lauren Graham casting rumor…. Fans who want another installment of Gilmore Girls nearly lost their minds when Sherman-Palladino admitted last year that she wants Lauren Graham to come on Mrs. Maisel. So what's the status on that? "What I can say is she is requesting a specific [character] and I haven’t been able to fit it in yet," Sherman-Palladino says.
I'm curious what character she's requesting.
I'd also love for Milo to show up.

C'mon Amy, you can do it for Season 3. We have faith in you!

Thanks for the info Claire.

Also, Maisel won 3 SAG awards last night. Rachel Brosnahan for actress, Tony Shaloub for actor, and the cast for best comedy ensemble.

This show just keeps racking up the awards. Great job for all involved.

Good news for Amy! I'm so excited for this! Melissa McCarthy is an interesting casting option. (I wonder if there's a role for Lauren, too?)
‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Amy Sherman-Palladino Revives ‘Gypsy’ At New Regency
Quote:
EXCLUSIVE: Gypsy is coming back together. New Regency has come aboard to finance, and negotiating to direct is Amy Sherman-Palladino, who is coming off winning four Emmy Awards for writing, creating, exec producing and directing The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Joel Silver is producing.
Barbra Streisand has exited the previous incarnation of the project, where Barry Levinson was going to direct at STX with a script by Richard LaGravanese, and Streisand was going to play the iconic Mama Rose. This plan cratered when STX exited in 2016. This is a plum role and I am hearing names that include Melissa McCarthy, who is Oscar nominated for Can You Ever Forgive Me? and who worked with Sherman-Palladino on Gilmore Girls, but I am told that no casting decisions have been set and that call will be made by Sherman-Palladino once her deal is closed.

If any Gilmore Girls fans are interested in visiting Canada (and the town where the pilot was filmed):
Gilmore Girls Fan Fest Is Coming to Canada

Quote:
If you’ve been in the past, you know we wouldn't miss it for the world. We’ve been in rural Connecticut since 2016, so we’re getting adventurous and traveling to Unionville, Canada in 2019 to visit the town where the original pilot was filmed.

There's nothing like fall in New England. And, if Unionville was good enough for our favorite pilot, then it’s good enough for us. Having made the journey ourselves, we can tell you fall in the picturesque town of Unionville is just as beautiful as you’d imagine. The people in Canada are characteristically friendlier than you’d expect, nature shows off with new colors (even the squirrels have a beautifully intriguing black-colored fur) and coffee tastes better than usual on a chilly day when you’re exploring a new town.

For anyone who has ever wanted to stand in the very spot Lorelai so confidently strode across the street to the tune of “There She Goes”, we are pretty confident you'll love Unionville, Canada. So, get your passports ready and book your flights to Toronto, we’ll see you in Fall of 2019!
Tickets go on sale on Monday!
(It looks like they're also planning a smaller gathering in Kent, Connecticut, where the previous fests have been held.)

I have a couple of friends who live in Ontario that are going for sure. It's tempting, but I don't think I'll have the time this year.

I already have a couple of other vacations planned this year. But I'm keeping my options open.

I definitely can't go, but I think it's cool they're changing things up and having it where the pilot was filmed.

Yeah, it makes sense. Wonder if it still looks pretty much the same or if it has changed. Guess we'll find out.
