yeah, seems like it. I´ve been watching it with my friend from beginning (for 2 years now.lol) and we just got to the end of the season 6. what can I do, Im not a skipper.lol

I'll jump on the Amy blame bandwagon!

What I think is strange is she said if she had been given the contract she wanted and stuck around for season 7, she had a "plan" to fix that whole storyline mess.

How??? It's easy for her to say that, but hadn't it already gone too far? Would she just pretend April never happened? Make the entire episode of "Partings" a bad dream from which we all wake up from? I don't think she could of fixed it as smoothly as she claims.

I still say Amy knew she wasn't coming back and screwed everyone with S6

well, we don´t see each other that often since I moved out so it goes slowly. It´s not like we watch it every week.lol But I watch it with other friend too and there we are at the beginning of season 3

True true. I guess it just seems slow because I watched it with my roommate and we just zoomed through it. I finally made her get her own DVDs because she kept watching mine. So, I took them from out DVD rack in the middle of the night.

Shannon, you put a smiley after this statement so I'm not sure if you were joking or not, but I think what you are saying is very possible. Maybe even probable. Lots of people complain about S7 being so horrible, but I think S6 was just as bad, if not worse.

I watch all 7 seasons in order. Some episodes are very painful to watch, but I watch them anyway. I just think Lauren is so great in all of them and that is why I watch. When Lorelai was happy, I was happy. When she was sad and disappointed, so was I. I often wonder where this show would have gone if MYOB had made it and Lauren hadn't played Lorelai. I don't know if it would've gone so far.

The smiley was to lessen the bitter, but I do think its true. Any writer who is happy about a long-lost daughter storyline and isn't writing for a soap is just waiting to burn things. IMO. Once April came into the picture... just *sigh*. The Rory/Lorelai rift didnt even bother me so much b/c I hate Rory and it gave Lauren some great material I think. I actual liked the idea of a rift, but it didn't play out all that well. S7 was just a continuation of the crap

And I really don't think that GG would have been what it was without every person that was on that show.

On a happier note, I love the early years of GG

True, but I think some would have been more difficult to replace than others, Lauren being number one in my mind. After her, Kelly Bishop and Liza Weil stand out for me.

It really was just such a great cast overall. This is why I am so interested in the casting of TBS.

ETA: Oh, and the rift between Lorelai and Rory. I actually liked that storyline. I guess season 6 is probably my least favorite season because of the second half of the season.

I feel bad for AB in a way because I think Rory got pretty bad storylines the last 3 years, and in s7 in particular. Logan, Marty, Olivia and Lucy- awful, didn't like any of them. S7 must have been pretty tough for AB to weather.

None of the characters were the same in that season. They were so off and I don't know if it's just me but they looked a little uncomfortable during that season.
Nothing was the same and I don't think anyone was happy with the way things were in S7.

I also so hated the Marty storyline and Rory's new friends were so weird, jeez.

I agree with you Mara. I hated the most what became of Luke. They made him so softy that is was so boring and irritating sometimes. Others were off too, but Luke was very not him.

I found it odd when C and L were together and they were so lovey-dovey- all the hand-holding, kissing, "I love you's". It seemed like it took forever before LL said I love you. In fact, the first time I noticed Luke saying it was on the Valentine's episode and the only time I remember Lorelai saying it to Luke was when she gave him the ultimatum. I could be wrong about that but that's the way I remember it. This aspect of s7 was definitely inconsistent with the rest of the seasons. There also weren't as many pop culture references, but I didn't care so much about that because I didn't understand 90% of those anyway.

ETA: Do you think if ASP had done s7 that she would have gotten Anna and Luke together for awhile? I kinda felt like she was heading in that direction. If so, then I'm glad she didn't do s7 because that would have driven me nuts!

Well imo, if ASP was there L/C would never ge married, and i don't think she would have gotten L/A together, that would be really weird

But with her you never know.

ASP was different, her writing was perfect. Like she said, GG was her baby, and of course when she left everything turned upside down. Not one epi in s7 felt like the old GG, it was pathetic.
