I can def. understand Alexis' frustration.

Her plotlines are boring and maybe she feels the same way.

And she wasn't really an actress before GG and maybe she's finally starting to see that there are other opportunites out there for her. Can we blame her? Can we be selfish to want her to do something just for us which in return will make her unhappy?

I really want an 8th season and I hope there is one but i want there to be a season where everyone is happy including Alexis. I can see them maybe doing the show w/ her only in it for a few episodes. I cannot say it would be the best way to go but if it means atleast 1/2 the cast returning then I'm good.

But maybe if the writers can promise alexis a plot where she can grow as an actress maybe she will return. I can't see them not having a decision by now. I have to gather they are almost ready to film the season finale - meaning a decision on Alexis' part would have to be made.

A agree AB missed out on some thing but as they say she also has had a change to do something a lot of people would kill to do. If she want to go we can't stop her and I wish her the best of luck in whatever she wants to do.

I'm still hoping for a last minute deal, maybe just 13 eps with Rory in a few for the start of the season and sweeps, ending in a winter wedding for L&L before Christmas to wrap up the series. Who knows like 7th they may get the back 9 which could be L&L married and mostly them, townies and the parents.

i agree. it's not that she's A-list actress who gets so many scripts and now can't choose. if Lauren can do one more year who is 40 she can do it too.

I certainly wouldn't do something if I wasn't happy just to make others happy.

It definitely sounds strange that she should make a sacrifice so that the LL fans can be happy. Especially if we consider that the RL fans had a sucky season with their storyline as well and they are still not complaining or trying to force Alexis to do something that she doesn't want to anymore. In my opinion we deserve at least that the cast tell their fans if it's the last year or not as soon as possible. And if we get an 8th season I want the writers to give Alexis a decent story and everyone will be happy.

Alexis owns us nothing, neither does Lauren. They fullfilled their contracts and I can understand if they want to have more private life or doing other projects. Everybody wants to move on in some periods of life. I blame Amy for all the problems we've now. She suddenly jumped on the idea of having more drama on the show, stretched the storyline and left the ship after causing a huge mess.

I agree one more year isn't a big thing when you're 25 but it's a big thing when you're not all in or bored of doing the job.I read somewhere that Alexis would like to work behind the cameras and I totally can see this. She isn't a person who's jumping on stage when the lights turn on but that's what you need to become a big movie star. Honestly I find her person uninteresting, I don't think I would go to the cinemas just because of her.

no i wouldn't. she's 40, she doesn't have a plenty of time to work on other projects, meaning movies, cause we all know after 40 women get leading roles in movies pretty hard (it's little better in the last few years, but only for few A-list actresses). so i would be upset cause i will not be able to watch my favourite show anymore, but i wouldn't be upset with lauren. alexis has a plenty of time for other things. and i believe one of the reasons she doesn't want to do it is Sin City, but that starts to shoot in 2008, when they already shoot half GG season.

okay I can understand that AB has way more time to do "other" things bc she's younger but we can't make her stick around to do something if she's unhappy.

That would be like someone forcing us to watch a show we hated. Why should Alexis be forced to do something only bc GG fans really want more time.

I agree with you. We haven't had much of a Rory and Lorelai storyline and I think that's what makes the fans a little uneasy bc that's what were used to in the past. I do believe that if the whole crazy storyline with L&L never took place we def. would be ending the show this year but we'd be ending it in a wonderful way. Because of the twist and turns that ASP left for Rosenthal he had to make do and it took almost a whole season to do it! So that's why many of us are yearning for more bc we really want to see this end the way we had always pictured in our minds.

And I agree the network, the writers even the actros should def. be letting us know something. We are the one's that have stuck by this show through thick and thin. The one's who kept it going all these years we deserve to know what will happen to the future of our beloved show.

Give Alexis a wonderful storyline and maybe she'll stick around. But hey if you want to continue to let her play out her story the way it has this year...I don't blame her for wanting to leave.

yeah, ok that's true. if she's so bored with GG she can do other things, no problem, but she did it for 7 years, one more year is nothing for her.
and btw. i still don't know how much they get for one season. i know for almost every other actor, and there's nothing about GG cast. i read somewhere that LG gets 50 000 per episode, but that was back in s1 or 2, i'm sure she gets more now.

Maybe Alexis gets less and maybe that could be a reason. I don't know. I think there is more to it then we think.
