They are filming on the Stars Hollow set today, and Lauren and Alexis were there. It's a party for Rory in the square, and there's a big patchwork tarp over the gazebo and most of the square, and it's raining on the show so the streets were all wet. There were pipe frames set up overhead to make the rain. There were lots of odd tables and chairs on the grass under the tarp, and all different kinds of funny lamps on the tables. Lorelai's jeep was parked near the high school across from the soda shoppe, and it had a fake Connecticut license plate on it.

We went into the Dragonfly Inn and looked in Lorelai's house too. The front wall of Rory's room was taken out for filming, so we could see right inside. There were some boxes packed and marked with things like 'books'. I remember her bed on tv was brown wood, but this one had white slats for the headboard and footboard. Lorelai's living room has the flat panel tv on the wall, and photographs everywhere. There was a chair missing I think, the one Sookie sits in when Lorelai's decorating with baby stuff, but the rest looked like it does on tv.

The tour guide said it was confirmed the show isn't coming back in the fall, because Alexis didn't want to do it.

As to the Jeep. So it's still working. Maybe in ep. 7.19 Lorelai doesn't really need to buy a new car, because the old one can be fixed, she just had enough and wants to get rid of it.

What the tour guide said is just so sad. I know it's not new, they all say the same, but still.

wow thanks for the info. But now I'm sad about the tour guide said even though it's NOT official. The show really has to let us know what's going on. But dang if it is the end I will officially go into mourning.

btw if it truly is Alexis that doesn't want to come back - can we officially seek her out and beat her with rocks and sticks?! lol

no really she deserves to do what she feels she needs to do but I am just sad she couldn't do it for one more year or atleast a 1/2 a year for atleast the fans - and I say this only because of how I feel the show is going to end with so many unanswered questions which is never great for finales. You want it to end in a justified way. *goes to look for tissues*

I found this article and almost panicked at the title but it's just someone's opinion...and although I agree with the article I still feel it's a good show with potential and should come back to fix everything once and for all.

`Gilmore Girls" (7 p.m., WGN-Ch. 9) is a repeat Tuesday night, but there's a new episode next week. Let's hope it's among the show's last.

There's talk that the CW wants to extend the long-running show for an eighth season. Rumor has it that Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai Gilmore, may be amenable to the idea, but the same rumor mill says she won't do it without her co-star, Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory and is allegedly not as keen on continuing.

As desperate as the CW network might be for content that does not involve booty-shaking Pussycat Dolls, an eighth season of "Gilmore Girls" would be a mistake. Speaking as a viewer who's stuck by the show through thick and thin, I think the comedy-drama should end its run in May. It's already gone on for one season too long.

Not that I would have ended things with the scene that closed the previous season. Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino drove the show straight into a ditch last May, when she ended the season with Lorelai in bed with Christopher (David Sutcliffe), Rory's dad and the guy that Lorelai always ends up with when she runs out of other options.

It was a particularly mean-spirited move, considering that Sherman-Palladino already had announced that she was exiting the program. Fans had waited for years for Luke and Lorelai to get together, but breaking them up and putting Lorelai back with the callow Christopher -- yet again -- was going too far. We had already been there and done that, and I was thoroughly sick of those two as a couple.

I had to see where new executive producer David Rosenthal, who took over from Sherman-Palladino this season, would do with the mess that the show's creator left behind. Suffice to say my worst fears were more than realized.

That's not to say there haven't been a few stellar lines or the occasionally satisfying scene (especially anything featuring Kelly Bishop and Edward Herrmann as Emily and Richard Gilmore, Lorelai's parents), but other than that, the season has been a train wreck. The lowest point had to be when Lorelai, who was nearly bullied into marrying Christopher, abjectly begged him to forgive her for still being friends with Luke.

Seeing her in the Jan. 30 episode, "To Whom It May Concern," practically chasing Christopher around the kitchen, pleading that she didn't love Luke and that she loved Christopher -- well, it was pathetic. No, appalling. Lorelai Gilmore, groveling for the love of an immature, controlling twerp? Give me a break.

There wasn't just the Christopher debacle: Rory repeatedly put up with caddish, rude behavior from her wealthy boyfriend, Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry). Sure, she stood up to him eventually, and he did have his decent moments, but none of his frequent jerkiness was pleasant to watch.

Between Lorelai and Rory, we've been treated all season to the sight of two women putting up with petulant, selfish, unacceptable behavior from the rich, spoiled men in their lives. Wow, what a great turn of events for a show that was originally supposed to be about two spunky, independent women making their way in the world with love and support from each other and their extended network of quirky friends.

This season of "Gilmore Girls" has just trashed that legacy. The sad fact is, I no longer care if Luke and Lorelai get back together. I just want this whole thing to be over.

My source told me that Lauren called up David Rosenthal several weeks ago and told him that she was not renewing her contract. But clearly the CW isn't taking "no" for an answer. Maybe they will find the right combination of money/perks to entice Lauren back; that's probably what they're hoping for, anyway, by not advertising the final five episodes of the season as the last episodes ever, but if the CW is unsuccessful, it would be a shame to see the show end without a properly advertised final farewell.

I don´t know what to think anymore, it´s so tiring. I don´t believe there will by 8th season anymore but I need to know for sure, this not knowing is so frustrating. If we watch the finale and two days after they´ll tell us that it was serie finale I´ll be really really piss of. I need to know before to prepare myself.

I am just as frustrated as you. I don't feel as though they really know lol. Maybe it's true. The girls say were done but the network is still begging and afraid to announce a finale incase someone changes their mind. Hey 7th heaven had a finale and came back lol - it's possible!!

But they really need to tell us before the final episode.

I am too thinking this is it which is sad because it was just such a waste of a year. I could kill ASP and partly David Rosenthal for creating such a mess of a year. It didn't have to be this way and it sucks not only for the show but the fans.

I just dont think its fair to anyone. At least with Friends, Sex and the City, and Will & Grace we knew it was the final season so we had time to prepair for the end. I need time to prepair!
