LORELAI BEGINS TO BOND WITH APRIL — Luke (Scott Patterson) decides to give April (Vanessa Marano) a birthday party at the diner. Lorelai (Lauren Graham) volunteers to help, and is hurt when Luke explains that he still thinks it’s too soon for April and Lorelai to meet. However, Luke changes his mind when the party is a disaster, giving Lorelai a chance to bond with April while turning the party into a huge success. Meanwhile, Rory (Alexis Bledel) rushes to be with Logan (Matt Czuchry) at the hospital after he is seriously injured during a stunt with the Life and Death Brigade. Melissa McCarthy, Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil and Sean Gunn also star. The episode was written by David Rosenthal and directed by Ken Whittingham

My love/adoration/respect/girl-crush for Lauren Graham grows each week. (And I'm old enough to be her . . . older sister.)

I really enjoyed this episode. I know that there is a lot of unhappiness with the storylines, but I continue to be entertained. Loved Sookie filling Lorelai in about her drunken exploits. Loved that Miss Patty had told the town to tell Luke that Lorelai had sung "Endless Love" during the wedding reception. Loved that Lorelai really saved the birthday party and Luke's reputation as a cool dude. Loved that Lorelai went to Anna to "sacrifice" herself and take the blame for being involved in said party.

I'm optimistic about next season with David Rosenthal at the helm, since he wrote this episode.

Again, Luke and Lorelai need to talk!! Plain and simple. The 'talk' in front of the store was extrememly awkward and a little lame on Luke's part. That simply is not an excuse.

As much as I like Anna, she kinda freaked me out and surprised me with her thing against Lorelai. I almost understand where she is coming from, but still she had no right to flip like that.

One more thing, Colin & Finn are my number one GG couple ship right now.

I haven't watched the whole ep, so I'll give my ideas on that later, but just wanted to point out...Lorelai has a different phone like every week! haha, I'm not sure if it was last week or the week before, but she had a pink razr, now she has a different white phone haha

I know this is O/T, but was it just me or did Rory have TWO cell phones? One in each hand...

Weird.

Anyway, I have now found the perfect name to call the 'nights out' my sister and I will have in the future (she's 12, btw)...she wanted to call it something a little lamo IMO...
So now thanks to Lorelai we will have Super Cool Sister (whatever)!

Okay, I'll be watching pre-teen movies but bonding is bonding!

I was excited after watching this episode, despite the 'air' of unhappiness going around regarding Luke, Lorelai, the 'April' situation, and Anna...the not talking, the blatant excessively (rudely) Grumpy Luke...and Lorelai still hides behind an upset face sometimes.

I hope she speaks up to Luke. But kudos to her for approaching Anna. If only Anna would really trust Lorelai. In time, I hope...in time.
They won't be Rachel-Lorelai bff but they have similar situations (single-motherhood) and I think Anna can respect that of Lorelai first and foremost. A plus for Lorelai. Anna may be a lot more overbearing and cautious about keeping her daughter 'safe' and with people she can trust...(Lorelai in comparison is more forgiving of people who do not hold up to the rules and expectations, i.e. Deadbeat) and yeah, she is concerned because she wants April to be around people she will be able to depend on fully not to disappoint her daughter. She's not fully trusting of Luke yet, especially since Lorelai pitched into the party. In time, I say...in time...

Haha, yeah I saw both phones Rory had. My sister and I were thinking that maybe one was Logan's or one for the paper?

I really enjoyed the whole party scene after Lorelai came and helped. It really boosted her mood and we got to see that light, happy Lorelai that we all know and love. It was really cute, and I think her and April, if allowed, could be really good friends, kind of like her and Rory.

I also think that Anna and Lorelai are a lot alike, and if they got past those few trust issues that they could really be good friends in the end. But for now I really hate Anna.

I still havent gathered all my thoughts, but I thought Id say that the second phone Rory had was probably Logans seeing as she went searching in it for Mitchum's phone number.

Lauren Graham owns me. She was absolutely amazing, as always.

Ok, so I think I might have something substantial to say now. I don't do that analyzing stuff, thats what I have other people for, hahaha. Anyway..

Loved:
-the whole Super Cool Party People thing. I was repeating it throug the whole commercial break. I loved picturing drunk Lorelai.
-the L/L shopping banter
-Lorelai saving the (birth)day
-Lorelai's hair at the party, it was all big and fun, too cute.
-Lorelai/Sookie after party banter. I miss them.
-There was plot development in this episode!! Who'da thunk it could happen? We finally got some character development and it shouldnt have taken 9 frackin' episodes!!
-Everything about Lauren. Her hair, clothes (minues the teaser shirt), expressions, ugh, I love it all. But we all know shes perfect, so moving on...

Hated:
-I hate everything about Rory and Logan. I give props to AB though, she nailed collin/Finn, and Mitchum.
-Luke telling Lorelai about how he doesnt want April to meet her yet. I understand it, but he was HARSH and rude, and she should have heard it (nicely) a long time ago. You could tell Lorelai was hurt, pay attention Luke! Dont get that stupid kitty crap, listen to your fiance and let her meet your kid!
-Luke laying the ground rules for the girls at the party. Psycho much?
-Anna. Period. I get youre pissed at Luke, yell at him, fine, but don't go dissing someones relationship to their face. I just wanted to smack her when she was telling Lorelai that her and Luke couldnt work (maybe) and that April couldnt "befreind" Lorelai until her and Luke are married. WTF is up with that? You could tell Lorelai was trying to hold her crap together in the shop. GAH.
-that April/Anna/Luke/Lorelai havent all met together. It just spells disaster, and this epi showed it.
-I give props to SP in the final L/L Crap Shack scene, he looked all kinds of confused, but talk about it more. Im sick of the no talking.

I think my rant is over. I loved the episode though. It gives me hope for S7 with DR.

Best Parts:
1. Rory calling Michem and telling him off. That I must say was my fav part of the eppisode. Go Rory!
2. Mrs. Patty not telling Luke about Lorelai's sad drucken toast.
3. Lorelai and April finally bonding.
4. Collen and Fins Adoption Joke. Now that was funny.
5. Paris getting iformation on Logan for Rory that was so nice of her.
6. Sookie telling Lorelai all she did at the Wedding and Lorelai asking the omlet guy if he wanted a peice of her.

Worse Parts:
1. I hated Luke telling Lorelai that it was too soon because April will like her better then him. I thought that was selfish and very imature.
2. Anna getting mad because Lorelai helped Luke with the party, and the way she treated Lorelai. I think Anna is just jelous.
3. Luke cusing Cesier what was with that.
4. Logan being hurt that was kinda sad.

Over all it was a good eppisode I give it a 6.5 meaning it was not the best but I didn't not like it either.

so I just saw the epi and I have to say that I really liked it
lorelai coming to the party and helping out, that was really great .. and i also liked sookie telling her about the wedding ...

on the other hand I felt extremely sorry for lorelai ... I mean there she was getting her hopes up that now she finally would be able to meet april and then everything gets destroyed by anna's worries ...
luke ... well I don't know ... the excuse that april would like lorelai better was really lame ... but the name hagrid was funny *gg*
well in gerneral I'm still annoyed that luke and lorelai don't talk with each other about the important things .. everything seems strange between them ....

rory and logan ... well I didn't think it very special .. although I also liked it when rory called logans dad

Just finished watching the ep and I loved it
Definitely was an emotional rollercoaster for Lorelai.
One minute she's down, the next she's on a high, then Luke shuts her down about the present and April (Luke was a major ass there) and the next she's high again over helping with the party - which was fabulous by the way! That whole sequence was great.
I love how Luke wanted her to stay and when he said "April would want you to!!"
I was so happy for her and that scene with Sookie was great!!
"JAckson is sooo getting under my bra tonight!!" I think Mel got the two best lines of the night, that one and "Super cool party people!"

What gutted me was how Lorelai said "I'm sorry" after Luke told her about Anna. She just seemed so defeated and the way Lauren said it was gut-wrenching!!

Overall, Lauren was amazing and the ep was amazing!!

Another great quote: "You want a piece of me omlette boy?"

I actually loved the ep.. drama and comedy at the same time again I mean this season was more drama, but it was balanced again.. gives me hope for next season
and lauren was great!! really no other words for her..

btw who for gods sake just gives such a little kiss to your fiance when you haven't seen him in such a long while?? I mean if you haven't seen your boyfriend/fiance in a while you kiss a little bit more, or is it just me?

lol denise I had the exact same thought while watching it I mean that was such a small peck .. you could have nearly missed it ...
