The CW: SHALL WE DANCE? — When Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) have no real reaction to the news of her break up with Luke (Scott Patterson), Lorelai (Lauren Graham) suddenly realizes that most of her emotional life has been based on doing and feeling the opposite of whatever her parents want. Later, when Michel (Yanic Truesdale) forces Lorelai to attend Emily’s beautiful cotillion dance, Lorelai discovers that some things her parents wanted for her weren’t really that terrible. Rory (Alexis Bledel) has a tough time making her long-distance relationship with Logan (Matt Czuchry) work. After taking Rory out for a father/daughter dinner, Christopher (David Sutcliffe) makes a startling confession to Lorelai. Melissa McCarthy and Keiko Agena also star. Lee Shallat Chemel directed the episode written by Rina Mimoun

TV Guide: Lorelai expects the worst from her parents when she finally tells them that she and Luke ended their engagement, but she's more upset when they hardly react; Lane gets very little response from Zack when she shares her big news; Michel collects on an old IOU for a favor from Lorelai and forces her to take him to a cotillion that Emily organized; and Rory, missing Logan, finds an uncharacteristic way of expressing her feelings to him. I actully liked the eppy. Did any one catch at the end when Chris was giving his I love you speach he said Lauren not Lor ot Lorelai. I thought it was nice seeing Richard and Emily back, But it seems they made Emily a little meaner. The only part that really disapointed me was the fact that Lane has not told her mom that she is pregnate I want to see Mrs. Kim's reaction.

Everyone needs to have faith just let nature take its course with Lorelai and Chris I know and I have complete faith that Luke and Lorelai will get back together by the end of the season.

but it was good, it felt like just a passing episode, but good
ew, i didnt like lukes new hat on him... other than the fct its not the lor hat, it just looked bad, but im glad him and rory are good

OMG now that you mentioned it I rewatched that part and yes he does hahahahaha.

And I thought it was a great ep Seriously I love this season, at least the first 3 eps.. I mean GG is back for me, if you get what I mean?

I totally thought he said Lauren too, at first but then I rewatched the scene and I'm pretty sure he said "it was so right Lor, and you may not see that righr now...."

BTW: hate me if you want but that scene made me sick. Both characters, esp. Lorelai's reaction aka big puppy eyes. I'm sure it was in the scrip like that coz Lauren is, as we all know a good actress and would never portray a character so OOC. (Yes, I was an optimist for the first two epis, but this one just sucked and I'm starting to really hate DR and ASP)
nuff said. and I really don't wanna work myself up again...

ETA: I think the Boy from the SAT study, Eric (?), the one who's 'in love' with Rory is the boy from Paris Hilton's 'outrageous' video (the one where she animates a 13-year old (eric) to masturbate

something is bugging me since the season begun......is it jus me or it looks that they're trying to cover lauren graham with clothes that are too big for her???

let's face it! the girl is hot! why try to cover her up with big shirts or pyjamas or even big dress??????

ITA! Totally get what you mean!
The writing is fantastic and moves so fast, the high speed talking that we know so well is back with a vengence.
This season is fabulous so far, I hope it continues that way.

Michel & Lorelai could totally be my new ship if I wasn't such a die hard JJ

ETA: Just gotta say loved all of Lorelai's outfits tonight. That dress at the beginning was hot! & the dress from the Cotillion was so classy and beautiful ... and finally, I was happy to see the return of a Jeans & T-Shirt combo, she looks so good in casual clothes

I love Lorelai´s cotillion dress I would love to see her in something similiar on her wedding rather than the quite wierd wedding dress from season 6. Such a simple beauty.

lol i almost freaked out when I thought he said lauren cause the first moment it really sounded like it.. but then I also caught the "lor.. AND" thing

what me bothered was the emily indroduced them as "My granddaughter and her mother" what about "My daughter and my granddaughter"??

apart from that I liked the episode .. it wasnt as good as last weeks episode but still a lot better than the last episodes of season 6

I agree with you, it really bothered me that she said "my grandaughter and her mother" like if Lorelai were her daughter in law or something... and I guess Chris did say "Lor and"

I really liked this episode more than the last two because I felt this one had more "Gilmore" on it, the other ones were kind of slow and forced... without thinking like a JJ, I thought it was good.

Here's what I am liking about season 7 . . . the "girls" are back! I feel like there's been more interaction between Lorelai and Rory these past three episodes, and I missed that during season 6. I'm not worried too much about all the relationship stuff. I'm a java junkie, but I do not feel the need to describe how my bodily functions will be out of my control when Chris is on the screen, nor do I call him hateful names and proclaim I will not tolerate watching the show while he's on it.

It's highly improbable that Luke and Lorelai will not get back together eventually. They are not the only reason I watch this fantastic show, so I will be tuning in during the meantime.

LG was beautiful in her white "cotillion" dress and I loved her dancing with Michel. I was glad to see that Lane and Zack were back to being their witty selves! Great episode.
