Evan Almighty #6 ~ A follow up to Bruce Almighty

Lauren is filming a new movie. Its called Evan almighty.. its a follow up to the movie Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey. She will play the wife of Evan.

The movie stars (in alphabetical order):

Jimmy Bennett - Ryan Baxter
Tom Beyer - Stage Manager
Steve Carell - Evan Baxter
Morgan Freeman - God
Lauren Graham - Joan Baxter
John Goodman - Congressman
Shashawnee Hall - Camera Operator
Ralph Louis Harris - Staffer
Jonah Hill - Eugene
John Michael Higgins
Arden Myrin - Sara (courtesy of Daniel Martin @ MadTV Forum)
Suzy Nakamura -
Graham Phillips -
Molly Shannon - Eve Adams, Real Estate Agent
Johnny Simmons -
Wanda Sykes -

Premise: Steve Carell (The 40 Year Old Virgin) reprising his role as the polished, preening newscaster Evan Baxter of Bruce Almighty, is the next one anointed by God to accomplish a holy mission in the hilarious new comedy Evan Almighty. Blockbuster comedy director Tom Shadyac (The Nutty Professor, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty) returns behind the camera for this next episode of divine intervention. This time, however, his cast grows two-by-two.

Newly elected to Congress, Evan leaves Buffalo behind and shepherds his family to suburban northern Virginia. Once there, his life gets turned upside-down when God (Morgan Freeman) appears and mysteriously commands him to build an ark. But his befuddled family just can't decide whether Evan is having an extraordinary mid-life crisis or is truly onto something of Biblical proportions...

Thanks for the new thread Denise!

I did enjoy watching this movie, but I have to admit I would have never gone out and see a movie like this if LG wasn't in it. I do like Steve Carrell also, same goes for Wanda S. and definitely Morgan Freeman. So that helped a lot! And well those kids and the animals were cute also I agree Denise, LG was in the movie more than I expected, so that definitely was a nice bonus!

Until now I think the only movies I would have actually seen without some LG fangirlyness mixed up in it are Bad Santa and Seeing Other People ... that is why I do like the two projects that are coming up for LG, since I am pretty sure I would have wanted to see those even if I wouldn't have known LG at all. Just based on the story and the other actors in it!

Thanks for the new thread, now how the hell did I completely miss the last one???

I'm going back to check but was there any BIG new news?

Also dumb question but when does it open here in Australia and will the local networks be promoting it?

ETA - just found the Village Cinemas page, I must have blocked it out Sept 6!

ETA 2 - thanks for all the clips and stuff on the last thread. Lauren in the hamster wheel, can't wait to see that. So wish she bought that up on Conan!

ETA 3 - Nadine with your VCR problem you need to get a DVD/HDD recorder, FANTASTIC, record hours of video without recording over things, edit and put on the DVD. Then you can convert that to avi for putting online.

Well it's a great piece of tech, why didn't I get one sooner, oh right the cost.

Just wish it has the automatic programing functions of a Tivo.

I really wanted to go and see EA this week. I'm visiting relatives in a little conservative town...with one movie theater. They're showing all the new movies that came out last week, and will have all the ones that come out next week, except EA. I've been told that it's because of the religion aspect. I couldn't believe it. Yet, the first story on the local news the other day was how EA came in number one at the box office. Color me a bit confused. Has anyone else heard of something like this?
