The Answer man trailer here NEW!

Some information courtesy of juliekaye asking Lauren about the movie:

I hurriedly asked what the situation was with The Dream of the Romans and was it still going to get made? Her eyes got big and she said "We haven't filmed it yet...how did you know about that???" I laughed a little and said something like "Oh, the things we fans know!" And she laughed and said "Oh...the internet..." kind of dramatically and sort of rolled her eyes a bit in a good natured way.

Then she said "No, we haven't started filming yet. We start next month, in March, in Philadelphia." She mentioned a bit about Jeff Daniels and Paul Dano being in it and that she was very excited for it and couldn't wait to start on it. I told her that she just made some of her fans very happy to hear that it was getting made and she smiled and I think said "Oh good!"

Additional information from Philadelphia Inquirer

In the film by writer/director John Hindman, Daniels' character is Arlen Faber, reclusive author of Me and God, a popular book about spirituality. Arlen's life collides with those of Elizabeth (a single mom) and Kris (Joe Anderson of Across the Universe), a young man fresh out of rehab. Both Elizabeth and Kris hope Arlen has the answers, but he hasn't got a clue. Also cast are Philly's Kat Dennings (ER, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Olivia Thirlby (Leah in Juno). The shoot is booked for 25 days around town.

While watching for the fourth time (just trying to get my money's worth during the 24-hour rental period), I finally figured out what was keeping me from loving this movie: My disdain for all thing chiropractic. Once I blocked that part out, the love came through.

I've never been to a chiropractor before, but the way Lauren was doing the adjustments just didn't look right to me, especially when she was adjusting his back through a jacket. I guess that's not really the point but I would imagine any chiropractor who sees the movie will probably cringe.

I am glad you're enjoying it more now, auntbee.

The perfect remedy for being sick in bed with an awful summer cold....thank you Amazon! Watched it once late last night and really liked it. Watched it again this afternoon....I thought Lauren was great. I think one of the problems with knowing too much about an actor is that you can't suspend reality and get into the character he/she is playing. But, Lauren is just that good 'cause I forgot that she was Lauren, forgot about Lorelai and Adelaide and really bought that she was Elizabeth the chiropractor. Her facial expressions are terrific. At first I though the chemistry with Jeff would be weird, but I bought that too. I thought she conveyed the maternal feelings really well, it wasn't overdone or schmultzy. And, I LOVED her clothes. All those tops and sweaters...I want every single one! I'm thinking again there was a lot of Anthroplogie.

Did anyone who watched the movie and saw her in person at G&D think that she has physically changed? In the movie she looks great but in the photos from G&D she seems so toned and lean. I wonder if it was just the physical workout of the show or if she has undertaken a new exercise regimen (pilates, yoga -- how do you get that lean and still eat and look healthy?!?!).
