We heard rumors of smoke breaks with Matthew Perry when she guest-starred on Studio 60, and if I'm not mistaken also when she was filming Evan Almighty.

Yes, I did hear those rumors. But I tend to dismiss rumors pretty easily because a lot of times they often fall under the "cockroach" category.

Thanks for that, though, Val - I was wondering if I had missed something more substantial.

ETA - okay, Shannon! I guess I don't remember that one after all! Was she schmoozing with Matty? YAY!

p.s. I cannot tell you how tempted I am to run to Best Buy right now!

Lauren and John recount the story of their first meeting over lunch. We've heard the story before about how John was instructed to not offer Lauren the job on the spot and John proudly proclaims "I didn't! I just said 'I love you. You're perfect!'". It was funny hearing that story again with Lauren's reaction. Also, John ribbed Lauren a bit about how little she ate at lunch. Those two like to tease each other. It's cute.

John also ribbed Lauren some about her many pairs of jeans and Lauren talked of how she hates capri pants- thinks they don't look good on tall people, or anyone for that matter. I wear capris all the time. <pouts>

Anyway, I wish I could figure out how to share this with those who won't be able to get it.

I still have only watched half of this so I am sure there is much more to talk about. Shannon may beat me to it. Have you gotten to Best Buy yet, Shannon?

Got it from BB! I'll be starting it in a minute, and I'll post fun tidbits. Might be some of the same as Debbie since i didn't read her tags.

But fun story! So, I'm searching for the movie and when I find it, there are two but the are put on the shelf with the binding out... so I took the one that was left and covered the movie next to it, so you could see the whole TAM DVD

Hee! THEN, at the checkout counter, the girl ringing me up was looking at the dvd and was like, what's this about? In my head I'm thinking... uhhh... Haha. So literally all in one breath I'm like, "Well, there's this writer and she's a chiropractor and they meet but she doesn't know he's famous and they fall in love and it's really really cute" *breath* And the girl was like, "aww that sounds fun. I'll have to remember to go rent it." And then she actually tore a piece of paper and wrote TAM down and says "I'll go to Blockbuster". It was so fun! I may have converted someone! aaanyway *off to watch*

Aww, I love the not-gonna-fight-for-you-date-boy story. Their daddies are friends. "He's such a cutie" Yes he is, Lauren. Yes he is. And on Rescue Me. Fun show.

Jeff did his own stunt crawling. Hahaha.

Oliva is "bitchin'" according to John, lol. Lauren thought he was going to say, "bitchy" Hahaha

"Lauren Graham loves jeans" "John Hindman loves capri pants, which is what he suggested I wear. Capri pants don't look good on tall people. I don't like them on short people either, not gonna lie."

The first meeting of Eliz/Arlen was on the first day of shooting.

Lauren has never seen Dumb and Dumber. Wow.

Awwwwww! They're talking about the "You are so.... amazing" scene and about how John hoped it worked the love at first sight. Then he says to Lauren "That's why it had to be you" AW!

Talking about only meeting with Lauren for the role. I still love that. She asks what he ate at their meeting then says "youre meeting with the director, I'm not an idiot. You pick at a salad like you've learned in the actor handbook." But she ordered a crab cake and apparently didn't eat it. Then what we've all heard "Don't offer the part at lunch!" So he walked her to her car, "I love you. You're perfect" *laughter* "And I do. And you were. And you are" AW!

Hah. Lauren said "peeps".

This was Lauren's second time seeing the movie. So, she's getting distracted and forgets to talk. "I wonder if there are actor's who get over the strangeness of watching themselves and who enjoy it."

John loves the scene of Lauren looking out the window reading the book. And they're laughing at the fake cigarette and how people who don't smoke don't know how to hold it. John "Like they're holding a salamander" Bahaha.

Aw, they're all silent during the "stay and talk to me" scene.

Lauren had never been to the chiro. I thought she said she had before the move. The helper guy couldn't come on the shooting day and her agent called and was like "noone is there the help Lauren!" Bahaha. Jeff still makes fun of her.

She waited until "the exact right moment at the exact right place" to get a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and that day never came "Seize the day". They decide it wouldn't have happened if she read those self-help books.

My goodness! That patio table that Kris and the dad are talking at? HORRIBLE. it's like...soggy. Hahaha.

"One of my favorite actors" - Lauren about Tony.

Aww when Jeff fell in the store after trying to leave books there, he actually fell. And he's apparently far-sighted, lol.

Oh, they read reviews. Mention how people thought they underused Kat and Olivia, but they say, how great is it that these great actors have such small parts and are amazing in them. "People just wanted to be a part of this movie. Critics just gotta critisize something." - Lauren

The "walk" scene is a favorite. They had to re-shoot it because spring came! Jeff was sleep-deprived during it b/c he was shooting State Of Play at the same time.

They keep calling Lou "bunny". It started at the beginning of the commentary talking about his hair color.

Hahaha. The sexy chiropractor scene. I love the shaking hands with little people. So great. John is praising Lauren (& Jeff) for their portrayals of slowly opening up to each other.

"Ya idiot! Could be at the end of every one of these [questions]." - Lauren loves how bored Jeff is answering these questions.

Now they're talking about not the movie. Lol. Watch the movie, guys! Interesting stuff about screenwriting, though.

Aww! There's a flash. Someone was taking pictures. I didn't even think about that. Too funny. John loves the little skip that Lauren does as they walk to their date. He even made sound effects. Hahah. Lauren wanted to do that scene over and over "it was just so pretty"

The restaurant was a "hideous location". Haha. Frustrating scene b/c they had to keep stopping because of the noise. John's dad on piano. Dinner scene was very "real". The "broken spell" of Arlen getting up in the middle of her speech.

Back at Arlen's apartment was the last day of shooting. They keep talking about chemistry between Lauren and Jeff

It was a 25 day shoot. "Wish you could start again" Aww. Such friends.

The almost kissing moment was done a million times. "It was about the camera. Not you" Hahaha.

Talking about how John loves that both Lauren and Jeff understand comedy and how it works. And the silences. Lauren says Jeff really knows how to use those silences in film and she has to be aware of that because of GG every moment was filled.

Lauren gets a lot of scripts that are "unsolicited". Finds it hard to read stuff she's not excited about. Talking about wanting to work with John, then "It does matter if you're a nice person... though if you're a talented actor, you'll still work" - Lauren

On The View "Nobody cared about me and Jeff, they were like 'who's the director? He's cute!'"

Actors over money. Good call, guys. "Hardest way to make a movie" (Aww, they're going to talk during one of my fave scenes

Aww, yay Lauren likes it too! Oh, nvm, the boys keep talking) Yay, scene talk. "It was brutal" Half a day for just this shoot. "Crying and crying and crying" She loves Lou.

Haha, throughout they keep talking about John having stuff from the movie. It's brought up again, and Lauren is like, "What? Where's my stuff?!" Hahaha "You couldn't have grabbed me a shirt or something?" LOL

There was a good BBQ place around.

"I've worn those boots in the last like 5 things that I've done." Hahaha. They certainly look familiar! "I think how she dresses is right for her" John - "I know that you think that." BAH. And another good Lauren laugh. "Don't patronize me... director"

All the authors of the books in the movie are crew members.

Haha, they're making fun of the teacher character.

The piano/2 weeks scene. "the language speaks for itself"

Ack! They're gonna talk over another fave scene again! Talking about making the movie and how it's a "****ing miracle" Lol Yay! More praise for the actors. Never gets old.

The montage (played by John's dad) is his favorite part. Apparently there was a Lauren montage that they tried at first. And when they told her about it she was like, "You can't help but be like "Aw! My face! That's s great. A love letter to your face"... cut to - it doesn't work." Then Kevin was like, "It's great! We can send one to your mom" And I'm like

They said they wanted to put the awesome montage on the DVD. "It felt like a 'In Memorium'" Baha.

OMG. I've never noticed the love spell between Kris and Ann!

Point of movie "Whoever or whatever God is. He works through other people."

The last scene. John - "He needs her" "I can never get tired of watching it." "It's like a real fight between real grown ups that are fighting for something that is really vital"

Credits "Wow. Peter Graham. No relation." John - "yet." Hahaha "I'm looking for a guy whos last name is Graham." Haha, she said "My name!" Again. "Ginny Graham. Also no relation. Why are there so many Graham's in this movie!?" "We hired all your relatives". "By the end of Gilmore Girls, all of my cousins had appeared. And my dad, several times" Cute! Her cousins refer to the episodes by who was in it like, "how was that episode with the guy carrying flowers through the hotel" Lol. Apparently her dad was in it once being given change. Kevin - "I'm not completely following... but I like to listen to you talk" Baha. And then Lauren proceeds to explain her joke. "My dad had his back to the audience and he had his friends call him and be like, 'Hey Larry! Turn around!" Funny friends....

Aaaand scene. Looots of laughter in the commentary. It was good stuff!

you never noticed the love look between Olivia and Lou's characters? I always wished they had expanded on that a little because it was very subtle
