The Answer man trailer here NEW!

Some information courtesy of juliekaye asking Lauren about the movie:

I hurriedly asked what the situation was with The Dream of the Romans and was it still going to get made? Her eyes got big and she said "We haven't filmed it yet...how did you know about that???" I laughed a little and said something like "Oh, the things we fans know!" And she laughed and said "Oh...the internet..." kind of dramatically and sort of rolled her eyes a bit in a good natured way.

Then she said "No, we haven't started filming yet. We start next month, in March, in Philadelphia." She mentioned a bit about Jeff Daniels and Paul Dano being in it and that she was very excited for it and couldn't wait to start on it. I told her that she just made some of her fans very happy to hear that it was getting made and she smiled and I think said "Oh good!"

Additional information from Philadelphia Inquirer

In the film by writer/director John Hindman, Daniels' character is Arlen Faber, reclusive author of Me and God, a popular book about spirituality. Arlen's life collides with those of Elizabeth (a single mom) and Kris (Joe Anderson of Across the Universe), a young man fresh out of rehab. Both Elizabeth and Kris hope Arlen has the answers, but he hasn't got a clue. Also cast are Philly's Kat Dennings (ER, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Olivia Thirlby (Leah in Juno). The shoot is booked for 25 days around town.

I pre-ordered mine from amazon, so I'm hoping the mailman brings it very soon! When I woke up this morning I had an e-mail that it shipped. Thanks for the info on the extras, Katka - I could not be more excited about them . . . sounds wonderful!

I ordered it from Amazon too, and it has shipped.

I live in a small-ish town and I knew I would have a hard time finding an indie movie like this anywhere, so it's better to just order it than drive around all over town. I should have it in a few days.

Awww, bummer! Well, it's only a couple days until those of us who ordered from amazon will get them. But with a whole feature-length commentary with Lauren - I can't wait that long! I want it now!!!! *is Veruca Salt for a moment*

just another opinion about the extras

Quote:
Extras:

Magnolia fills out the 25GB Blu-ray disc with a decent selection of bonus features. First is an Audio Commentary with writer/director Hindman, producer Kevin Messick, and actor Lauren Graham. It's a laid-back track (all three are witty people), interesting and enjoyable.

Next up are a pair of featurettes. "Characters of The Answer Man" (10:14) features all of the prominent cast members discussion their roles (complete with spoilers, so beware), while "The Answer Man: From Concept to Creation" (9:57) is more process and filmmaker-based. As is the norm with Magnolia releases, we also get HD Net's promo featurette, "A Look at The Answer Man" (4:33); it's pretty standard promo fluff. Trailers for additional Magnolia Blu-rays (Food, Inc., Is Anybody There?, World's Greatest Dad, and The Great Buck Howard) are also included.

So we can expect witty audio commentary? That's going to be so much fun I think.
