well I'd say that's the whole point of the movie, the time *is* akward for a sexy comedy,hence the sexy comedy!

I don't know if the time period is that awkward, if you take a look at the description in the opening post, it says the following:

So the time period seems perfect for a sexy comedy.

Of course if you guys mean what is said in the next sentence, you may have a point...

Well, I don't know how big of a role the Black Death plays in the movie. And anyway, at times like those a little promiscuous action is just what they need to cheer them up.

Cos of course the plaque was depressing.

After visiting the Red Light districts in ancient biblical cities Pompeii and Turkey the sex doesn't seem so out of place
