Awww!! I remember you coming here telling us just that! Happy Anniversary!!

I just realised my 6th Modaversary was on the 16th!

okay,my ROTS commentary,or atleast some of it anyway!

Well all and all it's still an amazing movie!! 5 stars! except for the dialogue, especially in some scenes,it's just as bad as it was 5 years ago! XD

Okay I watched a part of it yesterday, but since I had do to something else at the same time,I finished it today and watched some of the parts again! I still really love this movie, visually it's amazing!! the fight scenes, especially the Ani/Obi fight on Mustafar!! it just proved there's nothing in our universe quite like Star Wars...

okay,I scribbled so many notes I don't know where to begin!

Well one thing I noticed about the beginning battle scene,5 years ago it seemed technically amazing, but now it kinda seemed old to me...the ships didn't look real, they looked like miniatyre models...which tells me how much the technique in movies has evolved, because you know GL does the best of the best,so it was the best 5 years ago...this was really an interesting point to me

I really love the score and the music of the movie in general, the classical music by John Williams is really powerful and it really sets the tone of the movie and scenes, you know what's going to happen or happening just by listening to the music....even my Mom who's never seen the SW movies was like "what are you doing? the music sounds like Star Wars" I especially like the music played on Mustafar,at the end with the birth of Darth Vader and when we first see General Grievous...Speaking of General Grievous,I like him,as a character I mean, not that he's lovable and cuddly or anything I think he's well made, has a good voice,I like the cough he has too,a little extra something and I also like his eyes, they're way creepy and vivid too...I also like the scene where Obi-Wan is fighting with Grievous, when G has the 4 lightsabers and then you see Grievous's eyes and then Obi's eyes and Grievous is something like "you're gonna die and Obi's like "I think not" great scene!

okay I made so many notes I think I'll do this is parts,I might be a tad inconsistent sorry! (also it's getting late and I need to be up before 6 a.m to make my flight tomorrow morning..)

I think I'll just say some general stuff and I'll get into details, the scenes I liked and noticed most after I get back home

All and all I like the characters in this movie and their story arch and how it's developed throughout the movie...and I think the actors and actresses do a wonderful job in this movie in general...I would think it would be a dream come true to play a part in this movie because of the multitude of characters and imagibary creations...I think a movie like this, eventhough a lot of it's green screen and special effect, demands a lot from an actor/actress because it's also a very emotional movie and a very dramatic movie...in movies of this type I think it's very interesting to think about how they did all the cool stuff in the movie....but what comes to the dialogue, ehh! some scenes like the famous "no i love you more" balcony scene still makes me cringe! but some of the dialogue is right on,I like this quote from Padme, when the Galactic Empire is born in the senate session "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause"

Yoda still remains me favourite character...he just kicks ass, figuratively and literally! it just goes to show you that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover

Anakin and Padme are still very good and sweet I think that's due to Hayden and Natalie's amazing screen chemistry!... well, before you know the whole Anakin goes crazy, starts killing people left and right and goes all "I'm gonna rule the whole universe" -thing

I think I'm done for now, this should keep you entertained until I get back I have oodles and oodles to say about several separate scenes, don't you worry! XD

Wow guys, both of your recaps are massive! Great job! I read Maria's when it was first posted, but I'll read it again and I'll read Steph's too when I'm more alert and comment then. But kudos to both of you!

Maybe I should watch ROTS again soon too.

I know mine is long. Took me hours to type!
Laura, you should watch it and join the party!

Ok:

Interesting... I saw it on my comp and thought it still looked great. It was quite colorful.
But yea in the past 5 years CGI has advanced.

It's iconic.

Quote:
you see Grievous's eyes and then Obi's eyes
I love that close up!

Yes, I agree.
It's emotional and physical.

That is my fav Padmé line.

sorry it took me so long to get back here!! i left my notes with Mom and Dad and only got them yesterday...i'll write them up here tomorrow! if you reply to them and after that we'll focus on yours?

and yeah Laura join the party

well I watched it on my 32' flat screen and home theater system(not trying to boast, just explaining different circumstances x) and the colours were still bright but the battleships seemed very "box like" and very fake to me...yeah cgi has gone very much ahead...

It is! everybody regognices it,fans or not...I'm trying to get my Mom to watch them,I got my Aunt years ago!

Me too! it's a very powerful close-up!!

It's very much emotional and physical..I remember the footage of Hayden and Ewan rehearsing their big fight and how many months wasn't it they went through it...simulating and teaching fighting on screen, must be a cool job!

Mine too! it's like the one line I can take seriously from her! they and by they I mean GL have her saying the most ridiculous things!

okay,I'm double posting, allow me this once

okay it's so long since i scribled my notes,it's hard to make out i'm gonna try my best! =D

Remembering back on watching this, there are so many epic, moving, powerful scenes in this movie,it's hard to have an absolute favourite so I'm gonna go with a lot of them since i scribled these comments might not be in "order" so here goes nothing! :

-Well I love the Ani/Obi banter, especially in the first 20 minutes or so of the movie, the rescueing Palpatine from Grievous and Count Dooku was brilliant,I loved the scenes, loved the banter between them and loved R2! My favourite was maybe when they got caught and they were brought to Grievous and he was like "Anakin Skywalker, someone with your reputation,I expected you to be older and then Ani says "General Grievous, you're shorter than I imagined" I loved Anakin's swagger and the arrogance in his face while he was saying that" I also liked the fight in the cockpit between Grievous and Ani/Obi/R2,it was fun and well made! then after they're "abandoded" on the crashing ship,I love this exchange "Anakin, can you fly this ship? Well I'd say right now that's not an issue ,then the ship breaks up and Obi goes "we're still flying half a ship" or something like that...I'm a big fan of irony!

- I still like the opera scene, with Palpatine and Anakin and their conversation and the colours of the scene and their discussion,I love Anakin's various facial impressions and his lips are so luscious in this scene! and you just see how good of a manipulator Palpatine is,but then again Anakin was more like puddy to be molded with all his inner conflicts so he's the perfect candidate for such manipulation...

- Anakin is so damn whiny again!! especially in the scene where the elders tell him that he gets a spot on the Jedi Council but they won't make him a Master...

- Well ofcourse one has to mention the nightmare scene, where he wakes up all buff and looking all kinds of hot, even though he's distressed he looks so hawwt there would girls all over the world keeling over were they not sitting down in the theater

-I love the wookie planet of Kashyyk,I thought it was so well made and I love the wookie characters and the fight scenes and the weapons, I also love the scene where Yoda first senses the pain of something bad happening and then the clones trying to kill him and he just well kills them lol and I think it's great that Chewie takes him on his shoulders and him and Tarfful lead him to the "escape pod" great scene!

- oh one more thing to add to the Obi/Grievous duel, when Obi tears open his "chest" it's funny because Grievous' face and behaviour is like he's a woman and someone just dared to rip off her clothes and she's totally outraged at the embarrassment and humiliation! oh btw Steph the wise one of the SW things, what is Grievous exactly? he's not completely a robot...

- when Anakin goes to tell Mace Windu about Palpatine being a Sith Lord and he goes to face him, particularly Mace's face before Anakin stops him from killing Palpatine and then he flies out the window,so powerful!

-the scene where Anakin marches to the Jedi Temple with the clones, man it's haunting scene and kind of beautiful in a twisted kinda way, the colours of that scene are soo good and it's just almost breathtaking...

- when the jedi boy comes to Anakin and pleads him for help and Anakin raises him saber,I think if you didn't before you pretty much don't like Anakin anymore,he's not sympathetic in any way...(allthough I must admit I still every time I watch this movie, want him to be! want him to do right which ofcourse he doesn't...)

-One of the creepiest and saddest scenes when The Emperor sends out the message "Execute order 66" and all the Jedi get slaughtered

- Oh,another A/P scene, the beginning of the end for them, when they're both watching out the window with heavy hearts and tears in their eyes and then Anakin heads to the Emperor...

- when Anakin returns from the Jedi Temple and is on his way to Mustafar and he goes to see Padme, you can see that he's totally changed and he's totally dillusional, thinking he's on a mission for good...

-Yoda is so good in this movie! He has so many good scenes and so many good fight scenes,I love when him and Obi go to the jedi temple and they defeat the clones! I love when he goes to face the Emperor "the end of your reign it is,too long has it been" and the fight is so epic and so good! I love that about Yoda that he can do all those things,he can be so wise and patient and also so powerful for such a little person!

- Two pivotal Anakin moments: the one where you see him with his one "evil eye" and the more powerful (sorry i use that all the time here! lol) the one where he's on Mustafar and he has killed Gunray and the others and he looks so mad but one single tear falls from his eye and I feel that was like the end of his humanity, before he became a total monster...

- when Padme comes on Mustafar, you just see how far over the edge Anakin has gone, thinking he's gonna rule the universe and all and how's he saved the world somehow...okay Padme's dialogue in that scene kinda blows but oh well...

- well now it's down to the final fight between Obi/Anakin and it was one of the most spectacular/phenomenal epic fight scenes I've ever seen,I was just totally blown away by it...I like when they're both dangling on top of a pipeline going over the hot lava...the desperation was so palpable,Anakin was so furious and Obi was so desperate about Anakin's betrayal...Hayden and Ewan did such a good job in this scene, their facial expressions are so vast and right on,it's just very believable...the last scene where Obi has cut off Ani's leg's and hands and he's there screaming he hates Obi,man that was wau....and Obi's sad comment "you were my brother Anakin, you were the chosen one,who was bring balance to the Force not lead it into darkness"

- The scene where Darth Vader is born and Luke and Leia are born and Padme dies...that's one for the books...

And I'm DONE! phew!!

Yea, she got some crungy lines but that is thee best.
My sister feels her performance is bad in RotS but says that is the one line Natalie says with emotion.
She does say he with her heart broken and controlled anger.

I love that exchange too.

The Opera scene is my fav. The expressions, the tones if their voices, the eerie score. You get into a trance and all b/c Palpatine is a master manipulator.

Dayum right. *girls fanning themselves*

Now that you say it, he does have that expression!
He used to be an alien and a General on his home planet. Not too sure of the details but he died and was reborn into a cyborg and took on the name Grievous. He is a foreshadowing of Vader.

I thought that was a sign of some remorse and it wasn't until Palpatine told him he killed Padmé that he lost all humanity and became a machine/monster.

Quote:
okay Padme's dialogue in that scene kinda blows but oh well...
I didn't think it was that bad. Not the best but not cringe worthy like other lines.

Quote:

Good job Maria!
