An anonymous source told us the rumor that the feature film called The Other Side of Simple that Hayden Christensen was starring in, which was set to shoot Jan. 20th in Toronto, has been cancelled. As
of Thursday, January 9th, the production has been cancelled and the production company is currently working on closing up shop. As a side note, Hayden's brother Tove was Executive Producer.

This is just a guess, but probably for financial reasons, or shooting conflicts.

Either way, it sucks, though. I miss Hayden.

George Lucas Talks Star Wars: Episode III
Wednesday, January 15, 2003 12:11 CST

Roger Friedman has published at Fox News the continued story on his conversation with George Lucas which included the following Star Wars: Episode III bits...

"I know what I want to do," he said, "it was mapped out from my original writing for 30 years. But still you have these two pieces — Clones and Chapter IV — and you have to make them fit together. You're going to see a lot about Anakin and Luke and Princess Leia's mother, all the adults. And of course Luke and Leia will be infants in it."

I asked him whether he cared about the criticism of Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin in Clones. "Not a bit," Lucas said, "this is a talented kid. Years from now people are going to say, was he always so good, and look at Clones, and realize yes."

Has anyone read or heard any further news about "Other Side of Simple"?

What is happening with "Nailed Right In" also. Hayden is supposed to be starring in this with Johnny Depp! I know Johnny is doing "Pirates" right now with Orli but I wonder when "Nailed" is starting!

That sucks about The Other Side of Simple...I thought that would be a real stretch for Hayden.

What about Eco-Challenge when is that gonna air?? I obsessively checked the Eco-Challenge site EVERYDAY that he was in Fuji!! I can't wait to see that!

I'm surprised there isn't more info out on Other Side of Simple if it were cancelled... Peculiar.

Well, I read an interview when it was first announced about Hayden being on the Eco-Challenge...and MB said that just because Hayden was a celebrity he wasn't getting any special treatment...so if he cries they are gonna air it. Something like that.

My point is that his team had some difficulty but stayed in there a while. So maybe well get to see them tough it out on a couple of episodes. I hope their team gets adequate coverage even though they were definately amatuers (sp?).

And sweaty Hayden and Tove sounds nice. hehehe

Just weeks before it was to go into production, the New Line Cinema thriller "The Other Side of Simple" has been put on hold by the studio because of "scheduling conflicts." The film, which was to star Hayden Christensen, Don Cheadle and Vince Vaughn for director Joseph Ruben, was described as being in the vein of "The Usual Suspects." New Line offered no further explanation for the delay, but sources said several cast members had fallen out of the project in recent weeks. While the studio emphasized that "Simple" is not a dead project, there is no timetable for a new start.

LOVE AND WAR -- Oliver Stone is revisiting the Vietnam War with his script The Hunted, which producer Irwin Winkler (Raging Bull) hopes that Stone will also direct. "It's about Bobby Garwood, the longest-held prisoner of war during the Vietnam conflict," says Winkler, who wants to cast Star Wars and The Virgin Suicide Canadian born hunk Hayden Christensen for the part. Oliver Stone is rewriting the script which is an adaption of the novel Spite House. Winkler Film/Columbia are producing
