No problem! And thanks! I am feeling better, I have a stuffy nose but my throat is not sore anymore. And the appointment today went well, no time wasting courses coming my way so I'm happy.

It's just the system where they keep checking up on you approximately once in every 6 months to make sure you are actively seeking jobs, so they can keep paying you unemployment compensation. I had my appointment today and it went well, they didn't put me on any courses, yay.

And the guy there was really nice too, understanding and we even joked by the end of the appointment.

And if you want to know if I've applied to something in the Helsinki area, no I haven't, I'm not that desperate yet.

Yeah, she was very happy. And right now I am so tired, I didn't get enough sleep last night because I had to get up rather early today.

d 500 Days of Summer...it was so cute,but I *SO* wanted to kick Summer's ass in the end,it bugged me she was like that to Tom,who was like the sweetest guy ever...I'm happy they didn't end up together,because she was all wrong for him...I liked Autumn instead

but great movie,really funny...I liked that it had a narrator...

what I *meant* was what kind of jobs did you apply for that are not your own area...? as in not in the legal system...Well I'm glad you didn't get sick and you feel better...

I feel somewhat better but I'm still really pooped and man the weather depressed me today,it's been raining sleet like all day and it's been so dark you just wanna go to sleep and not wake up until it's spring again

I don't know what it was about me today,but for some reason strangers wanted to talk to me today...I was trying to stretch my other arm and shoulder on the train on my way to go swim and this lady told me/ showed me a way to do it better

she started talking about there being no Swedish flags up even though it's been "Svenska Dagen" today (Swedish Day) and then when I was swimming,this old man asked me "so how many laps are you on? I told him 3rd...oh 3rd he said and then he said something else which I've forgotten...but apparently it's also been "strangers wanna speak to Maria" day as well

Yay for seeing 500 Days! I told you it was awesome! The narration was great and funny. And yea, Summer didn't deserve Tom. I'd date Tom.

I have a friend who strangers always talk to her on the street. I think it is because she is really pretty and looks personable but she finds it so annoying. I would too.

Well it does actually happen to me a lot too

me and my best friend,all sorts of people in all sorts of situations come and talk to us or stare or whatever but usually not more than once a day

I sometimes find it annoying,but usually just amusing

So I did something crazy today. I got up at 5 am, took a 5:50 bus to go to the Hot Topic inside Toys R Us in Times Sq at 7 am to get a ticket to the New Moon event they are having on the 19th.

LOL

Then I hopped on the 8:12 bus to go back home because my family and I went to a Bat Mitzvah at 10:30 am.

I have never been to a Bat Mitzvah (or an Jewish celebration) before. The ceremony was an interesting thing to see. I had never been inside a Temple before.

And the party was off the hook! The DJs were awesome! I haven't had that much fun at a party since I was a kid

I am so exhausted. I will catch up tomorrow night.

I think I will get the 500 Days DVD too.

It part of the Hot Topic New Moon cast tour. So Kellen Lutz (who plays Emmett) and Nikki Reed (Rosalie) will there to sign autographs. But we are thinking since the rest of the cast is in town that day they may come for as surprise for the Q&A, (they did that in the one for LA).

Oh cool! My friends and I have tickets for Saturday the 21st.

It was such a blast! I was even part of a dance off.

the tickets came on sale a week ago and they've been going at a record speed

Oh duh, I forgot

Hot Topic is a store (buy t-shirts, cds, accessories, licensed merchandise, etc.) geared for kids. Mostly goth kids shop there. But they are tied with Twilight and they sell a lot of Twilight merchandise. They just opened a Hot Topic boutique in Times Square Toys R Us a few weeks ago.
And just like last year, the cast is doing a Hot Topic promotion tour.

WOW! It really is a global phenomenon.
I got to see it already. I went to a screening of New Moon yesterday morning. It was so unexpected and last minute that I got to go. The designer I work for, his friend Catherine, her husband works in show business and they usually get tickets to screenings and such through his work. Anyway, she knew what a big fan I am of Twilight and wasn't going to use her ticket so she gave me hers! I went along with her teenage daughter and two of her daughter's friends.

Anyway, I can't stop thinking of the movie and can't wait till everyone sees it so I can finally talk about it.
Security was tight! They took our phones, cameras, they even ran a metal detector wand over us.

Yea, I didn't win the dance off. Many people out danced me, but I had fun.

I hope you get to go out

I will be seeing again on Saturday. Made plans with friends and got tickets before I even knew I'd be offered her pass. But I'd be seeing again anyway

I do want to see it a few times.

Aww, I'm sorry I was semi-insulting.

But I was just today talking with my cousin and sister about jobs (and getting pretty pessimistic in the process) and angsting over not wanting to move there, even if I probably will have to at some point, but I just don't want to. xD I haven't applied for a lot of jobs not in my field, I was talking more geographically.

But if this legal thing doesn't pan out (and you know, sometimes I feel REALLY pessimistic), I don't know what to do...

BTW, I guess I won't have to watch 500 Days of Summer now, even though I stopped reading mid-sentence, I think I am spoiled.

Steph, that sounds so interesting about the bat mitzvah, it must have been nice to get a new cultural experience of sorts like that.

So, the reason I haven't been around basically the whole week is that I went to my parents' on Tuesday originally to check out some legal documents (some inheritance & will stuff in the extended family), though they didn't arrive in time (my mom's cousin or someone was sending them over) so I didn't actually get to look at them much, but I'll try to do that next week.

ANYWAY, that distracted me from my other "duties" a lot, leaving me to catch up like a crazy person and basically reduce my posting only over at my board. And this weekend I was gone all day on both days too, and I was pretty tired in the evenings so I just napped and then did some moderate posting.

But I should be back now, unless something suddenly appears again and makes me swamped like this week.

BTW, I had a really great time this weekend, spend it with family and friends. My cousin and I decided that we're gonna take up swimming this winter.

I haven't swum in years but I used to do it a lot when I was a kid. And it's the one form of exercise I actually enjoy.

And it should do good to my body, my back was actually a little sore which led us to come up with this idea. So we'll see how much more slimmer and fit we'll be next spring if we can keep it up.

We'll go swimsuit shopping next week and my mom promised to sponsor me.

Oh, and my sisters and I are having a Prison Break marathon on the last weekend of November. Fun times.
