American Idol - ♫ But it's not that easy for me to say goodbye ♫

It is unfortunately time to say GOODBYE to the American Idol board. The board will be closing tomorrow.
Our post counts haven't been enough in a while, and RL has been keeping me super busy so I'm not able to keep the board up anymore.

Our regular posters haven't been around in a while, be it because of the show's popularity being less lately or because of the Covid situation in the past couple of years and everyone becoming busier than ever.
But it didn't feel right not to have an official goodbye post since this board has been a part of Fan Forum for so long, it feels like the end of an era.

I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of this board at one point or another.
You all made this such a fun environment to discuss our favourite Idols and follow them on their journeys, both in the music industry and their personal lives (as much as they shared with the fans).

And of course to my two co-mods, a big THANK YOU to you both.
Cee [CookieMonster], my fellow Lee fan

, for encouraging me to apply for the Mod spot on this board back in 2011.
I had the best time, especially having someone here who was at least as much of a fan of his as I was.

And Laura [Cereal Killer], having so much in common, whether in our similar tastes in Idols or life in general, made co-modding this board with you a blast.
I looked forward to talking all things Idol or otherwise with you.
I would keep on going if I wanted to talk about how much I enjoyed our time on the board, but I'll just say that I was glad to have you as a friend here

I also wanted to say a special thank you to Lindsay, having you around this past year was so appreciated!
I really wanted to keep the board around until the season ended, so your help was what made that happen, and even a few months beyond that.
But also, even more importantly, I've had so much fun getting to know you better and chatting with you on OT. I'll miss this for sure

I had some free time because I can opt to work from home now but I haven't been watching the show for a long time now so I don't really post around and can only help out on game threads.

You've tried your best to keep this board afloat and I think the board has been around long enough to sustain interest here on

(Also good luck at work, I know it's been stressful.)

Yeah this board has been part of my

experience for so long, it was hard to let it go, but with everything, there was no other option unfortunately.

Missed Laura a lot too for sure

I can understand where I've done that in the past with boards

let them go unwillingly but understand to do it
