Nick Fradiani: Season 14's Idol
 

Not a very creative title because I'm still not happy with this, but I want to talk about Season 14!

We all know he had the best coronation single by far. The ones they chose for Jax and Clark both sucked. "Beautiful Life" (Nick's song) had hit written all over it.

Well, I understand it's climbing the charts and I finally heard it on the radio today. I have mixed feelings. I want it to do well because I always want to see Idol contestants have success even if they're not my cup of tea. I was reminded what a great song "Beautiful Life" is but also of how bland and sound-alike Nick's voice is.

I guess if you liked Daughtry, you'd probably like Nick because they are very similar. Maybe?

Anyway, I actually haven't listened to Jax's but yeah Clark's wasn't very good. Nick's was definitely the most commercial and I can't help but like it, I've listened to it a few times :lol:

I had noticed he had a similar vibe to Chris but the level of being comfortable on stage was obvious in the beginning, which is why only later when he started getting more comfortable in his performances, did I notice him more.

I'm interested in that too Laura :D You haven't gotten to his audition episode yet right?

I think Jax's coronation song is actually worse than Clark's, so that isn't saying much. I loved Jax on the show and I'd buy an album of her music.

What did you think of Jax's coronation single?

I actually liked the beginning, until the end of the first half but then it gets messy and all over the place with the instruments and vocals and I didn't like it as much.

We heard Beautiful Life on the radio tonight. My older daughter said she hears it all the time, but that she doesn't like it. Even though I don't care for Nick, I wouldn't mind another Idol winner having a hit song.

Hopefully it will be a hit!

He did good with the NA! I'm sure he'll get more used to it as he sings it more.

It would be nice to have another Idol get a hit song :nod: And Beautiful Life is not too bad, it's not Phillip's Home but also not Kris' No Boundaries :lol:

Nick's National Anthem was pretty good. I think I mentioned he's not my favorite, but I, too, hope he has a hit with Beautiful Life. I was surprised when my daughter said she'd been hearing it a lot, but then I don't listen to the radio as much as she does.

That's good it's getting airplay. The only way I can know is if I were tuning in to Ryan's show but I haven't lately so I have no idea.
