Favorite Performances of All Time

Post your favorite performance from any season, any contestant. Favorite auditions, Hollywood week performaces, Top 23/36, Top 12 and so on. Talk about why you liked them: A favorite song? The contestants voice? It just made you smile? Anything and everything! Go crazy!

My example:

This has always been one of my favorite songs, and I remember seeing her do this and thinking: Okay, she can do pretty much anything she wants with that voice. And it's a performance I will always remember no matter how many seasons there are. (And yes, I picked something other than David Cook for my example just to throw everyone off

)

Great thread! Choose just one song it's torture, though!

I'll choose Allison Iraheta's elimination performance of Cry Baby, because she is one of my favorite contestants of all time and I'll never forget this moment of hers on the show. I was really sad she got eliminated, but above that I was really proud of her for leaving with an amazing last performance and her head held high.

Also, that was the second time I actually cried watching Idol.

I always get sad when someone I like cries, and I almost cried lots of times. But really cry, having tears coming down from my eyes, I only cried twice - when Cookie won and when Allie got eliminated.

This is a no-brainer for me. Hands down:

The performance that started my Cookification.

Everything about this is amazing and special. The way he turned a rather light and insignificant pop tune into an epic rock power ballad and the heavy emotion laced all over the whole thing (those tears, people, those tears!). I think this is what sealed his position as a front-runner and showed people what a talented and original musician he really is (a much needed original arrangement after the "covergate"

). This will ALWAYS be my favorite performance of all time!

I might be back later, there certainly are a lot more epic stuff from Cookie and a couple of other dudes too.

Even though I was a taylor fan all year (YEAH DONT JUDGE ME

) that performance of hers absolutely wowed me! Girl's got a set of pipes on her.

Now that you mentioned, I can't remember if I cried when Mike left. But if I didn't it was just because I was way too busy cursing.

I cried when Chris Daughtry got voted off, when Chris Richardson got voted off, and this past season when Allison got voted off...that was just depressing.

Cried when C-Rich got voted off, cried when Elliott Yamin got voted off, may have shed a tear when Carrie won, cried when Anthony Fedorov left [I KNOW!!!!], cried when Matt G. was voted off the first time... and when Michael left, well, I wouldn't call it cried... no... broke down. Had a meltdown. Hyperventilated. Seriously over reacted... yeah

When Michael was voted off, all I remember is swearing at my TV...alot.

I was hysterical the night Chris Rich got voted off because he and Blake were my 2 favorites that season and they were up against eachother. That was the night I figured out that American Idol was a cruel show.

I cared for Blake mainly because of his relationship with Chris, and I think what they did to the 2 of them was harsh. Not as harsh as the MJ elimination but still pretty nasty.

I guess I only cried watching Idol when Taylor won, I was pretty angry

Kidding, I remember 2 other times, one after Cookie sang Always Be My Baby and the other was when Kris won, cause I was sure Adam would win, so it was tears of joy
