Their career obviously crashed and burned, and now they want more publicity to jump start their career again. It's just frustrating.

Yer. They should go to another record label or somewhere and tell them that they've already won a grammy and see how it goes...or something.

People shouldn't pay money for them to start their career up again when they've already had quite a successful one, imo.

Well that's show business for you. Kelly Clarkson actually had a record contract when she entered American Idol. I don't know what happened with that, but I guess she turned it down or something.

I know! January 15th is just around the corner. The judges have promised that the top 50 are the most talented the show has ever had.

Cowell also dismissed criticism that American Idol was not as good as it used to be.

"It's an incredible vehicle for people who want to be successful and under normal circumstances can't get a record deal for some reason," he said.

"The idea of Carrie Underwood wandering around without a record deal is staggering.

"You look at shows like 'American Idol' and 'Dancing With the Stars', which I consider to be two of the superbrands, these two shows, in my mind, seem to be getting better over the years."

He went on: "The good news is that this is a much better season than last year ... [it's] one of the strongest years that we've had in a long, long time.

"It's younger, I think the talent is more current, they're more interesting people. So I go into this season a lot more optimistic than I went in last year."

I really like Cardin McKinney. From what I've sorta heard she doesn't make it past the Hollywood round and i'm so sad and I hope that isn't true.

I went through this week and checked some MySpaces. Some of them are pretty good.

I've impressed with this years Top 24. I have a feeling it's going to be a good year, it's anyone's competition this year to win! The one's that we've heard from are all very talented. I cannot wait for the real competition to begin!

I have to say, there are some really talented guys in this bunch. I just hope they aren't eliminated in Hollywood like last season.

Well, they pretty much eliminated a lot of the guys I had liked in Hollywood and a few girls too... I'm depressed

I should start watching AI after the Hollywood rounds

This year is definatly going to be better than season 6! Worst season ever! I wish it was like season 5, my favorite (Kat, Elliot, Chris...)

I do think this season is going to be better. But it all depends on the Hollywood rounds. They've definitely picked some great people so far, but I fear that a lot of the people I like won't actually make it to the top 24.
