Yeah it has been harder lately, that happened with me during Maddie's season, but it got better last season. Hope you get a chance to check out the show, even if it's just when the finals begin.
I'm already a couple of episodes behind, but it's because it's still the auditions and I'm not usually too excited about those xD I will try to catch up soon though. |

You'd think I'd have more time to catch up now that I'm working from home, but it's been the opposite xD

Pretty much this month
I have been able to start catching up a bit though with the Easter vacations. I think this is a pretty good year actually, there is some great talent and contestants that are already polished and have been performing a while or at least know what they are capable of. Seems to be the best season so far of the "new" Idol, at least till now, I'm done with the Hollywood rounds. It is too bad all this with cancelling the stage shows is happening this season. It has been announced they will be doing "At Home" shows, wonder how that's going to work out. Hollywood week got an overhaul. There is now the Genre Challenge, where contestants are grouped based on their main genre. This replaced the line performances. And the most noticeable is there is no "Group Round" anymore! It is replaced by the Duets Round. I think that was actually a good change. They still had to work with someone else and adjust, but most performers don't eventually perform in a group so it wasn't like that round was something they'll all work with after show. And it showcased the contestants more, instead of having 4-5 contestants on stage in addition to all the drama that goes before it. |

That’s great it seems to be a good season so far. But yeah, it sucks that live shows won’t be able to happen. I’d imagine it will take something away from the show, the idea has always been to give contestants a chance on a big stage in national TV. Nowadays anyone can perform from their own home and put it on the internet, so I’d imagine these ”at home” shows will be kinda underwhelming. But we’ll see, maybe they can really make them work.
And the changes to the Hollywood week sound good! The Genre Challenge sounds interesting and I don’t think anyone will be missing the group round drama. xD Working on duets can actually be useful on their possible future careers. __________________

Yeah it's a pretty well-rounded Top 20 And definitely agreed about those At Home performances. As much as they'll work it up, it will be pretty far from those Live shows. Hopefully the contestants will still be able to showcase their talent.
The Genre Challenge was definitely an interesting way to see who stands out more in their genre. Agreed about the Group Round There was still some of the drama of missing partners, wrong song choices, forgotten lyrics etc, but the focus wasn't as much on those which is what needs to be. |

I'm not surprised Just Sam won.
I was rooting for Dillion or Jonny there by the end! |

Yeah this was a short season! I still have the last 2 episodes to watch.
The "live from home" shows turned out alright. Of course the flashy aspect isn't there, but they were able to spruce up the set with some props and a mini-stage which some utilized. Considering the situation, they did well. |
