It starts today? I totally forgot.

Thanks for the thread!

No problem. And yeah it does  Two-part premiere is today and Wednesday.

That’s cool! No idea if I’m able to see it anywhere but I will have try to catch some clips.

dancing in the rain 03-03-2019 01:55 PM

Hopefully you can! I will post some clips of any standouts as I watch the episodes. I will need to make more effort to properly keep up this time around xD

Cereal Killer 03-03-2019 02:32 PM

That would be great, thanks! So do I, sis, so do I. xD

Good luck to both of us then xD Last year, I was pretty good until the live shows, which should have been the opposite, not sure why but then the episodes started to stack up and I never got to catch up.

Saw the first episode, nothing overly "epic". Someone got a "Top 10 material" which I thought was way too early. Sob stories are still a thing, and they did "easily" give 3 yeses to pretty mediocre singers, mostly for their personality.

Some good talent:

Johanna Jones

Laci Kaye Booth

Also enjoyed Walker Burroughs' audition.

That always happened to me at some point even when they aired the show here. xD Last season wasn’t aired here so I was really bad at following it.

Thanks for the recap! Sounds like they still trust the old cliches to bring in viewers. I’ll check out those videos, thanks for posting!

I love Logan Johnson!

dancing in the rain 03-11-2019 01:54 PM

He has a sweet tone

Only a couple of favourites from the second episode. (Also backstories are at a high! And also judges antics.)
Alejandro Aranda

Eventhough this has the backstory as a prelude, and her condition obviously, but she is really good so would have gone through easily either way.
Shayy Winn

Was surprised Karli Ryan didn't make it, yes she might need a little more "spice" but she is better than most who got in. (And she has a story which we know Idol loves).

Understandable xD

I already have a favorite :D

His name is Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon. As a writer myself, it always amazes me when the contestants write their own songs. And this song is a gem, IMHO.

I also love the fact that he's open about his sexuality, especially growing up as a preacher's kid, or PK, as Katy called him. I loved (that's probably an understatement ) Clay. The thing that bothered me about him was that he tried to hide who he was, and you should never have to do that.

Yep. I hope he goes far, because he already has my vote.

ETA: I hope they put this song on Itunes and/or Spotify because I need it in my life.

dancing in the rain 03-13-2019 01:17 PM

^ Hey

I still need to catch up on the latest episode (probably tonight) but that's great you have a favourite! And that you like another one too. Agreed about it being special when the contestants are already really good song-writers.

Oh, sorry I wasn't clear, I was talking about Clay Aiken, from Season 2.

dancing in the rain 03-13-2019 03:40 PM

Oh okay, I remember seeing a Clay was in this latest episode too so thought you meant him  No worries. But having a favourite already is exciting! I don't think I have "that" for me yet.
