based on the Melinda Metz paperback for Teeny-Boppers...or so I thought.
What I found was not what I expected, something I was not prepared for:
not just another Angst-Ridden Teenage Melodrama - but a genuine love
story which parallels Romeo and Juliet on many levels, with mystery,
humor and science-fiction mixed in. What I found was not just a TV show...
I found myself...I found friends from all corners of the globe...I

The first episode I ever saw was 'Leaving Normal' in March 2000. I remember before I gave it a shot, I saw the adverts on TV and I had no interest in watching it. For some reason, I decided to watch it the day Leaving Normal aired and I liked it. After I watched Missing and 285 South, that cemented my love for the show and for Michael and Maria.

Well first I remember seeing ads for the Roswell books back in 2000 but I wasn't really interested because Roswell didn't air in my country yet. And it was weird, I kept seeing Shiri's names appear but I only saw Katherine's pics (I think they were the Maxim shots) so I thought she was Shiri.

So when Roswell finally aired in late 2001, I remember watching the teasers and I was intrigued by it. The concept seemed so unique and interesting, unlike any other show I watched before. So I watched the Pilot and was instantly hooked from that point on.

Got hooked when the Pilot aired in the UK, and thought there was too many pretty people to stop watching (Er, not that I'm shallow or anything )

7th grade for me, which was the beginning of Season 2. Actually I got into the show after the first season, I never even saw it I just read about it online and -bam- hooked. The first episode I saw was "Skin & Bones" though.

I started to watch Roswell from its beginning, in September 2001. I haven't missed any episode.

I had been interested in the show the entire summer prior to its debut because they aired commercials for it constantly, but I forgot to catch the Pilot the first time it aired, and again when they reran it that weekend, so I didn't start watching until "The Morning After." I was hooked instantly.

I started with the Pilot, a few months after it aired. (Yes, I get too far behind on my tapes.) Loved it. Watched the rest, liking the show more and more, watching it more and more frequently - watched the last three eps in two days despite being very busy.

I loved all the S1 characters and couples but it was Isabel and A/I that really made the show special for me.

Pfff, i think the show arrived in France around the end of 2000, on a cable channel first. I watched the first episode, and i thought "oh, it looks good".

Nice sets, the desert, aliens, mystery... so i decided to give it a chance. And then, one day, the shock ! and i mean SHOCK !!! i saw 285 South !!! And i just fell in love with M/M.

I loved (and still love) the characters, Michael being so alone, searching for a family and being abused, such a contrast to the loving family Max and Isabel had.
Maria, the crazy girl who was insecure since her father left, raised by a flawed hippy mother, i felt loneliness too in her, even if she had her mother.

I followed the other characters too, but i watched Roswell mainly for Michael and Maria. And Roswell introduced me to internet, to fanfics, and to other fans.

I will always love Roswell, it's like, i love other shows, much more adults, complexed, better written, like the X-files, the Pretender, The West Wing, Stargate SG1, NCIS, but Roswell is THE show for me. Kind of like a damaged child who happens to be my favorite because he is damaged.
And god knows the show was far from perfect !

The way that I started watching Roswell was kinda... odd. It's not one definite moment in time, per se. Cuz, I watched part of the pilot and absolutely loved it but at that time, I was in 7th grade and therefore much more heavily watched by my parents than I am now. My dad never said that I couldnt watch it but he always made fun of it and I took his opinion far too seriously and didn't watch again until "Destiny" beacause Howie (you know, from the Backstreet Boys) was on and I loved BSB. From then on I was like "Screw you, dad, I love this show"

Plus, one of the girls in my class's uncle played Nacedo and I remember when he died on the show, the day the ep aired she cried because she'd never get to visit the set again. B*tch

Re: When did you watch Roswell...

When did you watch Roswell for the very first time?
I was bored one day during the summer of 1999. They were re-running it I'm pretty sure so I watched. I'm thinking the first episode I saw was Toy House but I'm not entirely sure. After that I tried to watch whenever I remembered it was on.

Which episode was it and did you become addicted to the show straight away?
Well my dad always taped Buffy and I wanted a show of my own so although I watched the first three eps of season 2 I didn't start taping until End of the World. That episode got me hooked and it is still one of my favorites.

Did it take some episodes until you were convinced and which/who was the leading factor?
Well season one near the end got me pretty confused since I saw scattered episodes. I saw Pilot but very nearly no pivitol episodes until Tess, Lies, and Videotape and then all I knew was that I hated Tess. I was very confused about the grynalith so my mind was always working around it trying to figure the show out even though the characters on the show didn't always understand. By End of the World I knew I was hooked to the characters, especially Max and Liz although I later identified most with Maria.

How much did you do in order to support the show?
I sent e-mails to the UPN and the WB on designated days. I did Grassroots work to promote the show. I decorated my school stuff in Roswell and talked about it constantly. I was always on this website. My signature on my e-mails was "Watch Roswell, Tuesday nights at 9 on UPN." I bought Roswell t-shirts to save fanforum. Honestly I don't know really much else I could do to help the show.

I can't remember which episode it was but my best friend Nicole and I ...umm...adored her old jetta and we saw a car just like it on the tv. I think we got hooked after the first show. I was on the phone with her and we just loved it...

I can't remember which show it was.

Did it take some episodes until you were convinced and which/who was the leading factor?Oh yeah, I *still* not convinced A flying queen gravity defying jellyfish alien will do that to you ....

How much did you do in order to support the show?I didn't SEND tabasco but I'm still here...my live in boyfriend at the time thought it was a little "weird" so I didn't send the tabasco ...but I really wanted to! I hosted the continuation for the Importance of Liz to the Mythology thread...though...

When it first aired on the WB I was 11.

The Pilot and yup! I fell in love with Max and Liz straight away.

Nope. I'm a big Dreamer and then I also love Candy and everything about the show was just awesome. I love the storylines and Season 1 was just really solid with that.
How much did you do in order to support the show?
I bought all 3 seasons.

When did you watch Roswell for the very first time?

Sometime last winter I was up at five AM channel surfing and saw a show called "Roswell" was on the SciFi channel. I decided to check it out and switched into Sexual Healing about halfway through. I was hooked - understandable when you have a shirtless Jason Behr and Dreamer near-hook-ups - and the next day I plugged in a search for the Pilot. Someone had put up the better part of the episodes in seasons one and two, and I think I got through them all and read the transcripts for the missing episodes in about a week. Then I had a kind of spotty time getting a hold of season three, but eventually I saw all the episodes.

Which episode was it and did you become addicted to the show straight away?

Sexual Healing, as stated above. From the little I knew about Roswell I'd heard all the hype about Max and Liz and was prepared to be unmoved by them, since that's usually what happens with me and "power couples", but between Sexual Healing and the ending scene of the Pilot I was a Dreamer from the start.

Did it take some episodes until you were convinced and which/who was the leading factor?

Nope, it was pretty straight-off for me. Liz and Max were the leading factor for me - ironically, I actually disliked pretty much all of the other characters at first. Alex and Maria grew on me first, and later I came to love Isabel, Michael, and Kyle only second to Max and Liz, but it was definitely a Dreamer show for me.

How much did you do in order to support the show?

I bought not just season one but seasons two and three on DVD. If that's not devotion from a purist Dreamer, I don't know what is.
