Wow. I won't comment on anything specific. But I am not sure what I think about some of the big twists.. They take one from the books I believe, but slightly different.

But the other in terms of the relationships. I am not sure...

Sounds similar yet completely different.

thanks...I don't know...if I stumble on it ie hear it is on and actually remember when...very unlikely...I might watch it. Sounds like it might be preachy and I get enough politics on the news..I want to escape reality when I watch TV for fun.

Hello everybody! I haven't been here in a very long time. I read about the remake of Roswell and I am soooo disappointed they are not bringing back the original cast and story. I would love to see the real Max and Liz and the rest of the cast all grown up, perhaps with some hybrids of their own. I've especially been hoping for that since I saw the Roswell reunion a couple years back. The original cast still looks amazing together!

This new faux-Roswell remake sounds horrible to me! I find the whole immigration crap very off-putting and about the last thing I would want to watch. And now Michael and Alex are gay instead of having Michael with Maria?! Ugh!! Sorry Kevin Kelly Brown but I really hope this pilot fails hard.

Thanks Roswell 10/2/00! Do you know if Roswell still streams on Netflix? I wonder if Jason Katims could at least get most of the original cast together for a mini-series or something? I wouldn't be surprised if Katherine Heigle would be against it, but maybe the rest of the cast could set aside a little time around their other projects. It always bummed me out when any of them ever dissed the show, but the rest of them (other than KH) generally seemed like they appreciated the opportunities it gave them and seemed to enjoy working together. I bet Jason Katims could come up with a great storyline and script. A fan can dream, anyway.

I rewatched the series not too long ago, and I always read the post-Graduation fanfic Chameleon by Carol000/spacemom which is awesomely written (if you don't mind tons and tons of graphic Max/Liz sex) and a very satisfying resolution to the whole story, in my opinion. I guess that's one of the reason I always wish I could see an update of what's going on with the original characters on screen - to see them resolve the pesky little issue of being on the run and unable to return to Roswell and just an update on their relationships and stuff.

I won't lie, I've been waiting forever for that review to be posted because I was super curious about the details. To say it's completely underwhelming is an understatement. I honestly don't know how they can claim this version is based more on the books when there seems to be very few things (thus far) that actually match up, give or take a few specifics. Somehow I'm also not surprised that Carina decided to pair up Alex and Michael (I saw that coming the moment she announced that Alex would be gay, she would want to go the "shocking" route and what's more shocking than making Michael gay). And in any other writer's hands, I could see that being done well...but Carina is well, not so great, and certainly not so great with relationships. If this pilot does get picked up, all I see is a massive dumpster fire of horribly written plots and characters that may potentially start off strong and then quickly fall apart.

I guess reading this makes me feel a liiiiiittle better. It definitely bears no resemblance to our show and hopefully now people will see that and stop thinking it's a reboot of it. We will find out the decision on May 17th.

I think they are just hoping to capitalize on the name Roswell and had to "base it on the books" because the original series was created by Jason Katims and he wasn't on board for this misguided project. That's why they couldn't use the characters/names that J.K. created and had to go with Liz Ortecho and Alex Manes.

The description makes it sound like a trainwreck.

Oh yeah, the more they equate the two, the more people they're hoping will tune in. I'm so thankful that they don't have the rights to the original show and therefore can't use any of the characters/names, plots, etc created for that one. So the good thing is none of that can be tainted.
