Which Roswell Episode Did You Watch Today? | Part 2

Carry on!

I may watch the next episode today which is the white room...totally dreading to see max going through the pain. :(

Damocles 05-30-2015 08:21 PM

I know, I kind of don't want to watch that episode ever again :( Jason is really good at making us believe he's actually in pain...

April7739 05-30-2015 09:43 PM

As horrifying as that episode is, I think it's one of the finest of the series.

I get chills every time he's got that virtual reality headset on and Pierce shows him "dead Liz."

Oh my god.

Damocles 05-31-2015 07:57 AM

And being a show about aliens and all, we totally knew they'd have to do an episode like that at some point  But that doesn't make it any easier to watch.

April7739 05-31-2015 08:38 AM

I actually wish that episode had been part of a longer arc, or that the white room had been revisited. But then again, maybe it was more powerful as a sort of standalone.

To me, the human threat was more intriguing than any alien threats.

Damocles 05-31-2015 12:36 PM

I agree, because being on Earth already put them in a place where they were 'alien' and having humans after them only made that more difficult.

In those books that came out after the show, I think they said there were other aliens living in plain sight on earth too...from other planets or something. Not sure how I feel about that!

April7739 05-31-2015 01:36 PM

I'm not a big fan of the books that came out after the show, I must admit. Although . . . gosh, I haven't read them for a long time. But I remember liking the first 2 better than the last 2.

If it doesn't spring from Jason Katims' mind, it's not canon.

Damocles 05-31-2015 03:31 PM

Yeah that's the issue with the books  I like to pick and choose things from them though, that make me feel better  Not that I ever read them.

April7739 05-31-2015 08:59 PM

I need to find mine. I think they're out in a storage unit.

See, my problem is that I read so much fanfiction . . . particularly stuff that isn't exactly rated PG. So then when I read the actual books, I'm like . . . "I want more!" I'm so dirty-minded. It's, like, a problem.

Damocles 06-01-2015 06:53 AM

Maybe it's better I never read fanfiction, then  Because my problem always WAS that it wasn't canon...or something. So then, not sure why I pick and choose things from those Roswell books. I'm a hypocrite.

April7739 06-01-2015 11:57 AM

Well, I'm a hypocrite then, too, I suppose, because I'm a fanfiction junkie.

But I read and write a lot of AU, so it doesn't have to be canon.

Most of the so-called "Canon" stuff I read is smut anyway, so . . . It's not like the plot is super important to those.

aubie_ocean 06-01-2015 05:08 PM

what's canon and au? i'm so lost in this conversation. I still want to read April's someone, anyone though!

Damocles 06-01-2015 05:24 PM

Canon is like...what's 'official' or whatever. So like, Max and Liz getting married is canon. If April wrote a story about Max and Tess getting married, that never happened on the show and isn't canon...or it's not something the showrunner confirmed happened after the series ended, etc.

AU = alternative universe

April7739 06-01-2015 07:52 PM

And within AU, you can have AU with aliens or AU without aliens. Someone, Anyone is an AU without aliens story.
