Wow, a hard one. Because I love them in Season 1, but they were so young and naive. And more hardened by experience and love in Season 3. Not to say they were perfect in either season, both were flawed. Things were more easier earlier on...
So I will say Both... Maria and Michael in 'Independence Day' or Maria and Michael in 'Departure'? __________________

I agree about Max/Liz, but I would have chosen Season 3, because Liz had experienced so much and was much more certain about her path in life (same for Max)
 To answer your question, I will say... Maria and Michael in 'Departure', just the whole consummation of their romance came together perfectly.  Four Square or Max to the Max? __________________
