It's actually the night of Prom the episode aires Liz does a voice over in her journal.
Liz: It's April 27th. I'm Liz Parker and I think I've figured out why I haven't written in this journal in nearly a year. They were a week early because Off the Menu was going to air after Viva Las Vegas. However I remember on the news there was a shooting so the WB decided to pushed Off The Menu back because it dealt with gun violence and had Heart Of Mine aired instead. The prom is on April 27th, 2001. Remember that the events in 'Off the Menu' took place before this episode. Hence why Max is starting to remember his home planet after he gets flashes of his past life and starts to remember Tess at the end of Off The Menu. __________________

I know I remember watching it when it aired and I was like what!
It makes more sense to watch it in order. Why they waited so long is beyond me. I could of done with the Maria blackboard voice over teaching moments. I think if you watch it in order you can see how Tess and Max got close. I love the moment in Off The Menu when he tells her I remember you! It is my favorite Rebel moment besides the bench scene in End Of The World! __________________

Yeah, it gives the Max/Tess development a lot more cohesion, & I think I would have enjoyed the all the memory retrieval stuff more if I had seen that scene where he first tells her that he remembers her first

 Baby Daddy issues!As my freind Carolyn aka Roswool once said when we were at a Roswell gatherine in Boston. In season 3 Max was a dead beat Dad. He lived at Michaels rent free and was trying to make it as an actor. Meanwhile Michael worked two jobs and owned his own apartment!" We all wished the baby storyline was dropped as well. __________________
