I don't know, how do you think Max, Isabel and Michael communicated, when they first hatched ? Telepathy or flashes ?

A sort of telepathy, I think. They were not touching, and the "messages" were too complicated for flashes.

But you do agree that they seemed to be communicating, while they were barely hatched ? They didn't sound like ordinary kids, but alien ones. No emotion on their faces, seeming to talk to each other in their minds... there was something weird with them.

I believe so. Didn't they say they had some sort of communication?
And I agree that they must have had to learn how to be human, as babies do; but as 5-year-old children; which would have been wierd. Normal children aren't capable of doing so, at that age: for example, if a child hasn't learned some language by then, they never can. Look up "feral children" for details.
Or they were pre-programmed for US English, and perhaps some cultural things.

I always wondered if telepathy was common, among aliens. In Summer of 47, we never heard the white glowing aliens talking, right ? So they had to communicate either by telepathy or by flashes. So I thought that maybe that was the way the aliens communicated and that would explain why Max, Isabel and Michael didn't talk when they hatched, they had other ways of communication.

Well, true, we (actually, Hal) didn't hear anything; but they were hiding. You'd expect them to have some sort of hand signals, even as our soldiers do... see most episodes of SG-1. And they were only onscreen for a moment, they could have been whispering before & after Hal was in the room.

So I thought that maybe that was the way the aliens communicated and that would explain why Max, Isabel and Michael didn't talk when they hatched, they had other ways of communication.

Since the R4's powers grew as they matured, wouldn't you expect that if they had some kind of telepathy to start with, they'd keep it? Or get it back soon? And that the Dupes would have it for sure?

Yes, I know I'm arguing both sides of the question.
Maybe there's another possibility: they were preprogrammed before hatching to stay together... and Michael blew it, as usual.

If they were preprogrammed to stay together, how come Michael was able, as a kid, to go against his programming ?

But if they had stayed together, do you think they would have been able to communicate telepathically ?

About the telepathy, I'm pretty sure that was in the books.

In the show, The 4400, there is a character named Tess who mindwarps people.

What's "GA"?

And there was a similar Roswell reference in one FarScape episode, where a former ruler's wife turned up bent on killing him; but he figures her out & disposes of her.

GA is Grey's anatomy, and Katherine Heigl plays a character named Izzie. I read on another board that in Battlestar Galactica, there's a lieutenant Crashdown and it's a wink to Roswell and the Crashdown. It's what the actor playing this character said.

Hmm. Is this "Crashdown" character particularly irrational? Schitzoid? Suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder?

Did you see the SG-1 200th episode?

There's also an Isabel in the 4400. She's a main character and bears some similarities to Izzy's character, especially in the episodes surrounding Surprise.

No idea, I don't watch this show, it doesn't air here.

No, it won't air until march next year in France. I read that it was a comic episode. Damn, I still can't believe that Stargate has been cancelled .

Is this in the 3rd season ?

Cancelled? How can they cancel it? It's still making them money...
OTOH, they are runing low on potential villains. After you start taking out what amount to gods, what's left? Buffy had this problem too...

And just to get back to Roswell-related comments, this is why the writers had to cripple the Skins and K'var. If they had their full strength, a few kids (even with Powers) would have been no match for them. Wiped out. End of show...

Who's that in your avitar?
