I saw Magic posted the sad news about Capt. Kangaroo. Here's the AP wire story:

It struck me that in 1955 when he started as Capt. Kangaroo, Bob Keeshan was only 28 years old!!! [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img] Even though Jason is 30 now, I just can't picture him as Capt. Kangaroo. [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img]

Yesterday would have been George Balanchine's 100 Birthday. I went with a couple of friends to the ballet. The NYCBallet performed 3 of his oldest works: Apollo (1928), Prodigal Son (1929) and Serenade (1934) which was his first U.S. ballet. Then we got one of those small bottles of Russian Vodka and a plastic shot glass and after the perf toasted Mr. B and sang happy birthday. Little cakes were also provided on the way out. A great night and very nostalgic. It was a sold out performance.

LTL was sorry to hear about Captain Kangaroo. Can't say I was a fan, but I always thought he was a positive TV influence. (Jason as Capt Kangaroo? Can't imagine it either.)

Vicki: That was awful about the car robberies. The police should have put a bulletin out somehow to warn all of you. You and your neighbors should write to your Mayor and protest.

Anyway, have a good weekend all.

pretty blah weather here - not too cold, but very cloudy and foggy... no yardwork again this weekend [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

well, i'll just have to stop in here! That and get my new puter put together... have it hooked up - no internet connection yet... but the family history program wasn't backed up properly, so i'm inputing information into it that i lost... need to get that all organized this weekend i guess [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img]

I'm going to 'Visitation' tonight at the funeral home and skipping the funeral tomorrow. I need to work all day in my class tomorrow.

I'm so tired. I had mini nightmares all night long. Heart stoppers! [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img] And what is so weird is that each one built on the one before it....and now I can't remember them. I do remember I woke up screaming and was terrified though. Scared my pup :-(
