| ORBS # 254 : Roswell, fans, aliens, dupes... still discussing it!  WELCOME TO THE 254th ORBs THREADCalling all ORBS: Welcome to the new thread!!! For any newcomers this is the ORBS thread - Older Roswell BelieverS founded in Oct-2000 and we cater to any Roswell fan 20 and older, BUT all are welcome. Age generally brings about some common ground on experiences and lifestyles so people can relate better. Granted, we older fans sometimes act like teens, but teens can act mature too. We have members from the high teens to the 50's so we are multi-generational. We have people from Germany, the UK, Brazil, to Australia and from coast to coast in the US in the group. People of all walks of life from professionals, students, stay at home Mom's, etc. We have a lot of fun here discussing episodes, posting pics and screencaps, playing games, posting poetry and a lot more. Basically we just have a good time and are always glad to see new 'faces'. Roswell is so diverse it has room for all types of fans. You may not see all the people on the roll call posting. Some have moved on as their interests have changed, but once an ORB always an ORB. We ask that you remember the golden rule modified to a board definition : "Post unto others as you would have them post unto you." We're here because we want to have fun discussing our favorite show, meet new friends, get support when we need it, and have a good atmosphere to do it in, aren't we? Each of us needs an outlet to get away from the daily grind and it needs to be a pleasant experience. Else, why bother? P.S. Now that you've heard a bit about us, come in an stay awhile. (*Proposed rule pending enactment by royal decree from Supreme Sovereign Princess LisaBehr -- No puking smilies allowed in the ORBS castle!) - Rule #4 - By Decree of Supreme Sovereign Princess Lisabehr...You Puke it, You CLEAN IT!!!! During our Denial Land thread, the Disenfranchised Dreamers among us put together a few items to be added to the ORBS RULE BOOK... So for the Dreamers on the thread living in that portion of ORBSland called "Denial Land": 1. There IS a season #3. 2. That P word thing doesn't exist. 3. There is no Tess. 4. There are only happy endings to any and all storylines for the Dream couple. 5. NO blue Jello allowed. 6. Big green alien rods that stick out of billboards don't exist. 7. Saying "What do we do now Max?" is outlawed. 8. No Strange Aliens in need of exfoliating cream!! 9. The Granolith is just a fancy food processor. 10. No Tic Tac popping, shapeshifting, mindwarping aliens allowed in Denial Land! 11. Liz can't say "What are you doing here, Max?" unless the scene ends in a hot kiss. There was a flagrant violation of this rule during the HC. 12. Destiny is just another word for Dreaming! 13. NO pics of the snake Tess by order of Supreme Sovereign Princess LisaBehr. | I started posting on these boards during Season 2. It seemed like there was a Roswellian influence felt everywhere, throughout FF, though. I remember the board as being extremely active during the second season. There were all-night obsessive posting parties over on the Candy thread. I joined that for thread 99, just in time for the big 100th thread party.  I would come on after the new episode aired, and could get sucked in to discussions for way too long, something I regretted when I had to wake up the next morning for work. The Candy thread and the one comparing the show with Roswell High were the two threads I first posted on. Then I started spreading out to others, like ORBS, Loners, and ocassional visits to the CHADDS (mostly just to read their comments and theories ).Kay was around here on the boards before me - not sure when she started posting. __________________ "Don't be afraid of the dark? | I wish I had discovered Roswell during that time period. I purchased season one on DVD in August of 04. I did not join the Roswell community until November of that year. I found over 30 Roswell sites when I fist googled the tv series in August of 2004. Many of them were still active... __________________ It all began with a touch of a hand,. As life was ebbing away. | Back during Season 2, it seemed like Roswell was everywhere. It was an extremely popular and busy fandom. | Now, it's so common, huh? Every show has a site, and there are boards to chat on everywhere. I remember some of the campaigns to save the show. | Roswell is still unique.......The series ended over six years ago and it is still going strong on the net. | I have been catching up on my reading........I spent the last few days finishing a 979 page science fantasy novel.........I have been reading the second novel in the Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. A new syndicated tv series, the Legend of the Seeker is based on the first book of the series. It is always interesting to see how they create a tv series out of a novel. Sometimes the reasons for the changes they make when the bring the book to tv isn't always clear. For example, Liz had an older sister in the book that did not make it to the series.
