Max's Jeep Bob
I feel kind of bad starting a new topic but I couldn't find a thread that was appropiate. So here is my 'lil question.
Does anyone know the make/model/year of Max's jeep? __________________

I don't know the answer to any of your questions but I have one of my own. Why did they kill off Bob?
In Season 3 in Behind the Music, Max states that he got rid of Bob because he thought he was leaving. Were they trying to make it look like they were incinerated in an accident so no one would question their disappearance? But they wrote the note to their parents so was that for the parents only? If two high school kids suddenly disappear, it could look very suspicious and the law might think they've been killed or kidnapped. I'm confused. [ 03-16-2004: Message edited Algieba ] |

I've always thought that they were giving the letter to their parents to let them know the truth and not think they had died. To the rest of the world, however, they wanted to disappear and not be looked for. So faking their death was a good idea.
Poor 'ol Bob. __________________

My hubby (who has ten years in the car biz) says that it's a military Jeep circa 50's/60's.

In the past, Maple Leaf posted this information: "I am pretty sure the Jeep used in Roswell is a slightly modified 1954 M38A1, which is a military jeep used in the Korean and Vietnam wars." |

I think that Bob was the source of Roswell's power! As soon as they chucked him off that cliff-face (oh the horror of it, THE HORROR!!! ), Roswell seemed to head downhill & was eventually cancelled...
Something that always intrigued me was the relationship between Isabel & Bob. I never thought Isabel was the kinda girl to drive around town in a big clapped-out piece of junk ( I loved Bob too, buts lets face it!!!). She was always very "princess-like" & Bob was a piece of crap. Just adds further to the true identity of Isabel under the gloosy exterior. She was a warrior princess, baby!! __________________

Bob the Jeep and everyone!
Quote:
Reportedly, one of the reasons for eliminating the jeep in the episodes is that being as old as the jeep stand-ins were and having no aliens around with special powers, the jeeps needed many repairs on an ongoing basis. ```````````````````````````````````````````````````` Max and Isabel were greatly concerned about leaving their parents. They didn’t want the Evans to worry. So they disposed of the jeep, with Michael sending it ablaze over the cliff in a remote area. If they had simply abandoned the jeep, someone coming across it might have reported it. Then the Evans would have feared the worst for Max and Isabel. In contrast, anyone coming across an old jeep over the side of the cliff would be unlikely to think anything about it. Cars and jeeps and other vehicles are routinely abandoned in isolated spots over the years. So, in the normal course of events, taking care of the jeep as they did was a good plan. Things changed, though, when they didn’t go to Antar. Max obtained a new vehicle, but Mr. Evans wasn’t in the loop about what became of the jeep. Since there were no problems at the time, Mr. Evans likely didn’t think twice about the vehicle change. (Old vehicles have problems and need replacing.) After Max left home, though, and wouldn’t confide in Mr. Evans about his reasons for being in Utah in the convenience store, Mr. Evans determined to find things out. He hired a private detective, who in the course of his investigation, came across the jeep. Because Mr. Evans had likely told the investigator about the jeep, the detective checked out the jeep, upon finding it or hearing about it. screencaps from Momo’s Roswell and Roswell Screen Grab Galleries |
