Honestly he might not be the brightest bulb in the bunch and how the swimmers acted was wrong. They were drunk and did dumb things. However I do think parts of his story in Rio are true with being robbed and the gun part. We will never know what happened but I am glad the swimmers are home and all ok.

It was so funny my freinds and I had a good laugh the other day about how it would be so funny if Ryan Loche was the next Bachlor or on some reality show.

Then they annouced that he will be on dancing. I am so watching. I really hope he can come out stronger adn rebuilt his reputation.

I loved how Michael Phelps at the VMA's was all smiles and laughing over Jimmy Fallon's impression of Ryan.

I so want Michael Phelps to coach Loche for the 2018 Toyko Olympics! A girl can dream.

I don't think he was robbed at all - I think a bunch of rich white dudes got away with a slap on the wrist, which is normal - especially in the States :shrug: And now he's being rewarded by being placed on a popular TV show.

(Sorry, this just rubs me the wrong way).

I mean, he agreed to do the show before all of this went down. (Which . . . I had kind of gotten that vibe prior to the Olympics, to be honest.) But perhaps the show should have cast someone else instead, in light of all of this? But then again, they're thinking in terms of ratings, so . . . of course they want him on. He'll draw attention.

Really? :( I'm not going to defend Ryan's actions at all, but they are friends, and Ryan was pretty supportive of Michael after the DUI stuff.

They weren't robbed at all. I can sympathize with the fact that a gun was pulled on them. That's just . . . it's a different way of handling the situation than what they would have encountered in the states. Still doesn't excuse the lie, though, or the fact that they were acting like idiots in the first place.

Yeah - that make sense. Them removing him would probably give them "negative" attention or something, who knows. Keeping him on will give them attention/possible ratings for sure.

And yeah April - Phelps was grinning at it and chuckling at least...not sure if it was a nervous one, but he still did it :eek:
