And half way thought our first season we've broken them up and yet we've completely allowed them to profess their love for each other at the same time. We've given ourselves more fodder for the back half of the season because the love story really needed a wrench thrown into it. We wanted to see what it was like for them to be so happy so that we would know ultimately what they needed to search for and find and live thorough the pain to get there again. LOVE the title. So true. When you think about it. Max and Liz came through so much. And showed their weaknesses and especially their strengths in spades. I don't think I could have made it through, half of those obstacles.

Max was a romantic in so many ways. What I liked was the contrast between Max and Michael. Michael could never get it right in the romance department. But Max just knew how to make a girl feel romantic. Of course it was demented because he technically did go to Vermont to kill Liz. But in a twisted way, it was just another element about Max and Liz. Because in the end, Liz saved Max's life there... He sacrificed his life for Liz. And Liz brought him back to life with a kiss. I wish real life was like that... |

It was... Which is why they should have left it in...
Max was truly a romantic. At his core, he just wanted to make Liz happy. He worried so much before they got involved about if it went bad. He didn't want to hurt her. He clearly adored Liz. And if you have a guy who is like that with a woman; that is a good relationship. He made mistakes. She made mistakes. They weren't perfect. Neither stayed on the pedastal each had the other on... But still, they were tested but at the core of it, was their friendship and that he truly loved Liz. They were truly a balanced couple and a very unique one at that. |

It would have been nice to see a talk that they had... about everything. But then Liz had to continued her Tess resentment until it exploded in the "Changes" arc to give her a reason to run. Their inabiltity to stay and talk to each other. Liz couldn't face Max after those words came spilling out. So she went to boarding school. But it would have been nice to see, at least a flashback. Would she still had them in the other timeline. Because she didn't start to show sympthoms until the Dupes storyline...after "End of the World". So that Liz could be a better match for Liz than Tess would be... Still doesn't explain why Tess had to stay on... Or maybe she had to go down as a villian and have Liz stepped in as the true mate of Liz. One who could handle his current life as well as his past. Hmmm... |
