Hey mommaC!!! I guess everyone is busy!

Anyone reading any good books? I'm currently reading a series (Eek...another! I don't know why I keep doing this to myself) called the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Totally loving it!!!!

That is an excellent series Mar. I think Scottie is a fan of it as well! I bought the new one but I must admit I'm about two behind. I should go back and read them all over again. That would definitely kill some time during my commute because those are massive books.

I'm doing something drastic this weekend. I'm cutting me hair very short. Everyone send vibes that it looks good. I'm a little scared.

Really?!?! I need to write down the names of these series more often. The only reason I picked up the first book was because I had read such great things of the last one that just came out. Yeah those books are massive!!!

Good luck with the hair! I hope its what you wanted and makes you happy!

Jero-Have fun! I've never been fishing and I'm sure no one wants to take me because I'll talk to much!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Mar: You'd be great on a fishing trip. Someone to keep us entertained when the fish aren't biting.

I read the first two Outlander books, and they're a good read, but I had an issue with the first one that kind of spoiled my enjoyment. I won't say what because obviously it doesn't bother a lot of other people.

Scottie is the one who got me to read Outlander -- she's crazy about the books. An old friend of one of my sisters met her husband on an Outlander message board.

I've been reading mysteries like crazy for fun, read a couple of personal finance books, and while I'm on the treadmill I'm reading a book about women in India.

Is anyone besides jero and me watching "Stargate Universe"? I was never a big SG fan -- I watched it the most after Ben Browder and Claudia Black signed on -- but this is good.

jero: Have fun fishing! How's your son's house coming along?

mommaC and M&M!

I could do that...easily!!! Then again, I may BE the reason why the fish won't bite!

Now you have me curious to what it was that bothered you...but don't tell me yet! I haven't finished the first book yet! I'm like 200 pages shy of the end! I plan on returning the copy I have to the library and buying the series for my own collection.

So I've heard. I've been talking to her about on Facebook and she recommended another series (Lord, help me. I have no idea how I'm ever going to finish all these series but I'm gonna try), The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons. Sounds good from what I can tell. Anyone else read it?

I d/led a free copy of the Pilot on iTunes months ago but I still haven't watched it and I'm sure I'm far behind on the show to catch up on the net. I have like 2 weeks of TV to catch up on to thanks to the World Series! Let's GO YANKEES!!!!

M&M-How did the new do turnout?

Off to work...I have a Zumba class tonight!!!

Here is the new do.

It is alot darker than is showing in the pic and the highlights are awesome. My only issue with the new style is for it to look good I have to dry it straight because my hair is too wavy to just wash and wear like I usually do. So it is a bit of a pain but I still like it. I didn't go as short as originally planned. My hair dresser was worried I was going to freak out on here if it was to short. She may have been right.

M&M-It looks great! I can see the highlights and I love how they're not overpowering but enough to stand out on its own! Kudos to your hairdresser!!!

And....totally geekd out for V tonight on ABC!!! Who else besides M&M and I are planning on watching the premiere?

Forgot to mention...I saw an ad at the top of the page for a movie called "Pirate Radio" I totally recommend it! I saw in Berlin with my friend Jules while I was there over the summer and just loved it!!!! I'm probably going to go watch it again!

M&M: Great 'do! It really looks good on you. I know how hard it is to fight the curl, but straight looks good on you. Nice highlights, too.

Mar: Congrats on the Yankees' win!

I really liked V! Elisabeth Mitchell pulled the whole show togther, I thought.

Glad to hear you liked Pirate Radio -- the promos look good.

Hey there

M&M - Your hair looks really good. I really like it.

LTL - I can't seem to get into reading that much right now. I don't know how you do it. My DIL reads like you do. I can't seem to concentrate enough to really take it all in. Hopefully, that will pass.

Am I the only one that remembers watching the V mini-series back in the 80's? I haven't started watching this one, was it any good?

I used to watch SG1 awhile back when Richard Dean Anderson (McGyver) was in charge. Then I got into Stargate Atlantis and really got hooked. I have enjoyed that one more than any of the others. I haven't watched the new one. I have lost interest in so many shows. I gave up Lost and Heroes last year. It just wasn't there for me anymore.

Well, my DIL hasn't gotten any better during her pregnancy. She's lost between 30 & 50 pounds because she can't keep much food down. She's supposed to have an amneocentisis (spelling?) test done on the 16th. The doctor will then decide whether to go ahead and do the C-section early. We may have a Thanksgiving baby! I just hope he's healthy.

Mar - I think Pirate Radio looks like a good movie.

Later...

I thought the Pilot of V could have been much better and I wasn't that impressed. However, I like the characters and storyline and I think I will enjoy the show once they really get into things. My husband said he thinks the problem with the Pilot is it was to short. They should have made it 2 hours and put more Wow and Shock into it.

And yes Momma I was a HUGE fan of the 80s miniseries being the scifi geek I am. I guess that is why I am so critical of the remake.

mommaC: How scary about your DIL and the baby! I hope everything works out well. When was the due date?

I did watch the original "V" and enjoyed it. I'm still plugging along with "Heroes" and still captivated by "Lost", especially since I started reading a Lost column and chat on the Washington Post site. (I can't do it "live" because of work.) They all talk about such interesting theories, and it looks like this last season is going to be good, with many returning faces.

As for reading, about 10 years ago I was having a real hard time reading. I couldn't concentrate and it felt like my eyes slid off the page. I finally got reading glasses for the first time, but I also got meds for ADD, which is what I felt I had. The meds also treat depression, though I didn't feel like I was depressed. Anyway, the combination of the two worked for me.

M&M: I was expecting a two-hour premier for "V" but they're only doing 4 eps, then breaking for a while, so maybe they needed to spread them out. They did some re-shooting so maybe that's why. No, not a blockbuster beginning, but I'll keep watching.

Hey Now!

LTL- I have no idea how you can read on the treadmill. I'm impressed. I always lose my place, so I stick to listening to music and this good podcast that has music set to a certain BPM, depending on how much I want to run.

I was all excited to watch V but wasn't really all that impressed. I just felt like it lacked some more action or something. It took forever to build and the end was probably the most exciting part of it. I'm still going to watch it.

Anyone watching "Castle"? I gave up on "Heroes"..I missed the last half of the last season. Oh well...

I've been catching up on SGU...I never really watched the other ones. I tried when Ben Browder and Claudia Black joined the cast but Friday nights arebad for me. I'm like never home. I do like Lt. Scott! What a hottie!

mommaC-I had a coworker like your DIL. The first few months she couldn't keep any food down at all. I think by her 5th month it all changed for her but it sounds like it's different for your DIL! I hope everything is alright with her and the baby!

Ok...off to lunch in a bit!

TTYL!!!
