Well I am so happy right now. As most of you know, my Dad has been out of work since the week before Christmas, well, not anymore!!!

He has a new job at Capital One in Richmond, VA starting on the 17th. I was so thrilled for him that I was crying. I know my parents are going to be adjusting being apart but my Mom is totally supportive and I know I will come out and visit him when I can

Just had to share the awesome news! Hope everyone is doing well.

Caps!

Just got back(Saturday) from a week in Orlando. Unfortunately it was not for fun. It was a work conference. Not quite as exhausting as my previous jobs conferences but still had its moments. I did get to spend some time at one of the very lovely pools at the Resort we held our conference at. It was so warm there that the pool water actually felt more like bath water. But it was still refreshing though. Also got to see some of Sea World. We had a social event there and we got into the park for free. Didn't see much in two hours but did ride a scary-a$$ rollercoaster, see the Shamu show, and fireworks. It was a good night.

So now I'm back for a couple of weeks and then I head to Atlanta for 4 days for another conference. Going to be their on my birthday.

Congrats to your dad D4E. It has to be relief for your family.

Hey, Caps!

Whoa -- long time since I posted here. Isn't Mar supposed to be back by now?

D4E: Wonderful, wonderful news about your father's job. What a relief! Now the Richmond connection definitely puts you in Caps territory. If you make it down this way, we'll have to arrange a gathering.

M&M: Sorry your conference schedule is so heavy, but nice that you got a mini-vacation at WDW. Do you remember WildBehr from the OTOs? She actually works at Disney World now.

jero, mommaC, and all lurkers!

We just got back from a week-long vacation to Seattle, Vancouver, BC, and Victoria on Vancouver Island, BC. It was a great trip but the airline industry is giving me permanent tics.

We were supposed to go to Stockholm on Wed., 7/29, but our connecting flight to Philly was grounded by bad weather, so we missed the flight to Stockholm. After we waited at the ticket counter for more than an hour, the only alternatives they could offer were 3-stop trips that wouldn't get us to Stockholm until Sat., Aug 1st, and we were only going to be there until Sunday before going to northern Sweden. It would have cut our trip almost in half.

So we cancelled that trip and I spent that evening looking for cheap flights and alternative locations. Air Tran had a good flight to Seattle but their web site was down all night, and the reservations person on the phone said she needed the computer system too. Anyway, after checking on and off all night, I finally got the reservations at 8 am for an 11 am flight out of Baltimore. Talk about bolting.

Long lines at the airport because of web site being down -- announcement that anyone with luggage to check had to be checked-in 45 minutes before departure -- the clock is ticking -- we just miss deadline -- man runs with our suitcases and gets supervisor to override the lockout. We were the last ones on the plane.

But the trip was wonderful. We had beautiful weather the whole time, and the scenery was magnificent. Extra added bonus -- I got to visit with my OTO Rosbuds, NanaJ (Seattle) and Tumbleweed (British Columbia). NanaJ came to our hotel the first night, supplied with Bailey's Irish Creme. The next night we went out to dinner with her and her husband, and then we saw them again yesterday before our flight. Tum and I posted together for years, but had never met. We got together with her at a beachtown just over the BC border. Mr. LTL was once again impressed by how widespread the Roswell network is.

We spent most of our 37th anniversary (yesterday) traveling by ferry, car and plane to get back home. For a change, I slept solidly on the flight home. Dare I say I feel like I'm back on Eastern time?

Mar is back. I've seen her post on Twitter.

LTL- Isn't Vancouver and the area beautiful. I want to go back. I went two years ago with Icalynn. Unfortunately it rained most of our trip but I still had a great time. Sorry about your plane hassles. I got delayed almost 3 hours in Orlando coming home. Was supposed to be home at 9:00pm and didn't get home till almost midnight. I was SOOOO tired.

guys

Just wanted to give you an update on how I am doing. As most of you know I was in an accident in May and have been going to physical therapy for my back. And they sent me to pain management recently.

My surgery today went well, and I am now resting at home. It was so weird. One minute I am on the table and they are putting me to sleep and the next, I am waking up in recovery, it was freaky. It was basically an injection in my lower back so it wasn't major surgery.

Came home and slept 7 hours, so this weekend I will continue to rest

On a side note, thanks to everyone on their well wishes for my dad, they are looking for apartments as we speak for him and they are off to see one of his cousins so at least he is still near family

Don't you love that first couple of days of re-entry after a vacation? Not!

M&M: Sorry about your plane hassles, too. Saw an article today that said airline complaints are up about 30% this year, and it's the frequent flyers who are complaining the most.

I'd love to go back to Vancouver and see more of the area. Such a beautiful place, and I'd love to hunt down some filming too.

D4E: for your back -- I'm sorry you've been having such a tough time with it.

jero: Stop mudding -- go fishing!

Our never-ending deck saga may be ending this week after all. I will be so glad to see the last of these guys, and Mr. LTL will be so glad to get his driveway back. And, oh yeah, we might enjoy the deck, too.

I'd to go fishing, but it's been too hot and muggy. At least I have A/C when I'm mudding.

Wow! They're still working on the deck?!?!? What are they? s?

I'm gonna be an aunt again! My 40 yr old SIL, Hubby's only sister and her boyfriend are having a baby! It's her first child! Saw her for the first time yesterday. She looked so cute with her poochy little belly!

Hey Now Caps!

I'm sorry I haven't posted lately. I mostly do my posting at work and lately, I have been swamped ever since I returned. That and my job has been precarious. People have been let go left and right and I've been told to stay off the net as much as possible. But I'm sneaking in to say Hi! I hardly ever get on the net at home...busy with just stuff really. It's an odd transition being overseas for 3 weeks and then returning to RL. Don't think I'm all here still....

I had an amazing time in Europe! If I could right everything down to share...I'd probably right a massively long essay. I'll check on later tonight or tomorrow when I get home. I have to squeeze sometime to get groceries!

Ask any questions and I'll answer!!!!

Off before I get questionned....

Mar: Welcome back! Here's a few questions: Where did you go? What did you see? Who did you see? What did you eat? What were your favorite things? Start writing!

M&M: Uh-oh, another Facebook addict! I may slide down that slippery slope yet.

jero: Congrats on the coming niece or nephew!

The deck is finally done! Now we have to think about furniture for it.

Here's a link to a PSA connected to my DIL's new book about Killer Unicorns You might recognize one of the actors.

Hey Now Caps!!!

I'm so upset! Last night I had written this long post that never posted!!! I spent awhile on it and it never posted. Then when I tried to do it again, the page wouldn't load, so after about 30 minutes, I gave up.

to answer LTL's question real fast, I flew to Rome, then to Paris, Berlin, London, Barcelona and then flew to Frankfurt for my flight home. I had an amazing time and I don't know if I could share everything really. I walked all over Rome, London (but I loved the Underground), became really good friends with the Parisian Metro and loved the beer gardens in Berlin. Barcelona is at the end of my list of my trip because I was almost robbed on the train. No worries, the guy didn't steal anything from me and ended up in his ass...literally, when I pushed him off the frellin train. I have these moments that something will remind me of a story from my trip. This happens at random times. I will post up something soon, but not at work. As I was trying to tell you guys last night, I've been told to keep a low profile at work because our company is kinda going through a restructuring. 3 people have already been let go, so I try to stay off the net as possible. It's easier for me to post on Facebook and Twitter because i can do that via my iPhone.

I did see that you ladies are interested in getting together for a movie. I would love to see The Time Traveler's Wife...even if Eric Bana doesn't not fit as Henry for me but I'll give it a try and I'm sure I'll bitch later. That's like one of my favorite books! UGH!! Potomac Mills does have a theatre and an array of restaurants. There is a Ruby Tuesdays next to the theatre in the actual mall but there are ton of other places to eat, that are around. Driving would ber easier but you can walk to them. Who's in?

Ok...I'll try to post more about my trip later. Maybe tonight or Friday. I'm supposed to meet up with a friend after work for dinner and drinks then tomorrow I'm going to a lobsterbake! YEAH!!!

BBL!!!

Wow, Mar, you really got around! Good work! And congrats on knocking the thief on his keister. I loved the Underground and the Metro, too.

Hey Caps!

LTL - that video was hilarious!!! I loved it!!! You're quite the actor, you're a natural. Thank you for sharing that, I loved it (I think I just said that but it bears repeating). Killer unicorns though? Say it ain't so! Aren't they supposed to be so sweet and magical? Or these are bred to be killers? You say that this is DIL's newest book? Let me know when it's available. You had such a great trip even though you had so much trouble in the beginning. Sorry you missed Sweden!

Mar - I didn't like Barcelona at all. When we were there (before you were even born!) there was some sort of military coup happening and on every street corner was an armed soldier. Very freaky. The harbor was filthy too, I didn't like the city at all. But the food was fabulous, we had a couple of great meals there. We only stayed one night and left asap on the train the following morning. Sorry you had trouble, but the guy found out that you don't mess with the Mar, eh?!!! Also sorry about your work situation, that sounds scary. I hope you keep your job and you're very smart to lay low and stay off the internet. Good girl!

Jen - I'm glad you're healing and I hope your parents find a really nice place to live. Good for them!

M&M - I'm on Facebook (finally!) I'll look you up. If I can't find you I'll come get some more hints from you. Your trip sounded like fun, I loved Sea World. The day we went it was pouring down rain, but it was still very fun. Glad your job seems to be going well. When it cools down a bit we need to think about having lunch. I dropped the ball on that one!

to Jero, keep mudding those walls girl!
