Hey all! I'm doing so much better keeping up now. Yay me!

I had the best four day weekend this past weekend. I finally feel semi-human again. Back to the grindstone today, but this week is only three days so i can't complain.

I was offered a job for the fall full time at the school. It would be great if it works out because i would have teacher hours. Meaning i would be off (with pay) vacations and summers. It's all going to depend on who the teacher is i'd be working with. I loved the kids i worked with in the Spring, but the teacher i worked directly under about drove me nuts and i don't think i could do that again. Luckily, the principal is of the same mindset for me and so i think it will work out. We'll see.

I posted some pics of my vacation on my shutterfly account for anyone interested. http://mooreinspired.shutterfly.com/

TTYL!!!

That job sounds ideal, RosMouse! I hope you have a good person to work with so it all works out.

Looks like you had a great time at the beach!

Hey All,

RosMouse - Looks like y'all had a lot of fun at the beach. I can't believe how big the kids are. I still think of them as little ones. The job sounds great for you if you get a teacher you like working with. Hope it works out for you.

jero & LTL - Sounds like y'all had bunches of fun together. I'd love to go to one of those places in NC to look for gemstones. Seems like it would be fun.

Howdy Tiger! And everyone else out there.

I just got a reminder from Facebook that 5 people have tried to friend me without my doing anything about it. Sheesh -- I can't even handle the Windows Messenger program (just ask jero). But I'm going to work up my courage and try it out when I get back from vacation -- in August.

Me too MommaC! Looks like there are some in Virginia too. Gold Prospecting, Treasure Hunting, Mining, Relic Hunting, and Metal Detecting in Virginia

LTL when are you leaving for vacation? Where ya goin?

Here are the highlights of my time with LTL...

An unexpected treat!

Fishing!

Great Falls on the Potomac River from the DC side.

I was totally unprepared for how dim the lighting is in the National Archives Rotunda where the Declaration of Independence is displayed. I'd forgotten that flash photography wasn't allowed, hence the dim, fuzzy pics.

It was surprising to see how faded the Declaration of Independence is... But if I was 233 years old, I'd be faded too!

Lunch with LTL & M&M.

The rest of my pics are here.

M&M it was great seeing you again. Unfortunately there's a mysterious video on my camera where the pic of us should be.

Later,

Another week of summer school down, only two to go.

Jero, we go to the same beach every year with hubby's family. It's in Frisco, NC. This is the place we stay and if you click the Area map tab you can see where on the OBX it is. Frisco Rental Homes - Vacation Rental Reviews - TripAdvisor

I LOVE it there and i live for the trip every year. It's a great way to re-charge the batteries.

I am lovin the pics of your trip to DC. I really need to plan a trip with the kids there soon. They would enjoy it.

I better git. I'm trying to make the most of my three days off (gotta love summer school hours) by starting it off with some computer games (which i NEVER have time for!). Off to play some Sims 2.

Had to edit this to share this video link! LOL!!

for the weekend!

Nothing special planned. I'll go to the meeting of the Former-Swim-Team-Parents-Who-Need-to-Get-a-Life Club and watch the meet at our local pool tomorrow.

Mr. LTL is home from camp, so if he's not too tired, we might go out to dinner.

Other than that, I have some books calling to me.

Hi all! Wow, I love your pics, Jero! Sorry I wasn't around for your visit, glad to see that you hooked up with LTL and M&M, I'll bet that was fun.

We went to Assateague, had fun, enjoyed the company of our old friends that we've met camping over the years. One couple is approaching their 80's, there's another woman that I particularly enjoy spending time with who's 76 years young, and then I had a blast with an 11 year old. He even made my hubby a father's day card after my hubby taught him to fish. He showed up every morning for second breakfast (remember the hobbits always had second breakfast?) and most nights for second dinner, depending on what we had. He was so fun.

Momma - good to see you, missed you!

Better run now, just blasting through my paperwork and missing you guys.

She lives!! Sounds like you had good company at Assateague, Scottie.

One of my brothers, one of my sisters and my younger son were all there within the last couple of weeks -- you may have crossed paths!

jero: How was the croaker?

I finally finished 3 of the 4 books I was reading. I need one to read at night now and one to read on the treadmill. Luckily I just hit the library for an armload of mysteries.

The croaker was EXCELLENT!!! I fried all of it and the 4 of us ate until we were stuffed! I sent about 6 pieces to my parents and they loved it too. My dad said he'd like to get some more.

Scottie it's good to see your pixels. Glad you had a good time camping! I would have ed to see you though.

I spent all weekend taping and mudding the kitchen ceiling at Boy1's house... Working on the walls during the week. ~sigh~

jero: Glad the fish were such a big hit!

Did another session with my ESOL student tonight. It's so nice to see her making progress. She has trouble telling the difference between long 'e' and short 'i' sounds, so we were practicing words like "cheap" and "chip', Tim and team.

Also, I was trying to explain what a "wedding" is -- it's really difficult to explain a big concept like that when her vocabulary is limited. I showed her some of my wedding pix, so she understands the connection there, but I couldn't get across the idea of a ceremony. Oh, well, we'll figure it out, and it's fun trying.

I have problems with my HI girls with short 'e' and short 'i'. The sounds are just so similar that with their limited hearing i don't think they hear much of a difference.

I have the same problem with some vocab. Trying to explain Independence Day was interesting!
