Meh...I was stomped when it came to a new title but now I'm sitting here daydreaming of Jason with no shirt on...

Jen-I leave 4th of July! My flight is at 7pm and I arrive in Frankfurt, Germany around noon. I'm sleeping the whole way so the jet lag won't be too terrible!!

Jero-You better get cracking...er...packing!!!

mommaC-I know!!! I can't wait! I'm so giddy. I've always wanted to do this. It's just going to be me, my iPod (because I so can't leave home w/o it), my camera, a pack and my journal!!!

Thanks for the thread start, Mar!! I thought for sure the title would have something to do with traveling, but the thought of our favorite (male) aliens in bathing suits is much better.

So sad about Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. #2 son couldn't understand why I was sad about MJ considering his questionable activities with young children, but all I could think of was that sweet little 10-year-old boy before he got all fracked up.

mommaC: It turns out people were panning for gold not too far from me. Who knew Maryland had a whole bunch of minerals? You never hear about it these days. Of course, a lot of it is farther west, where the mountains start.

jero: Your bedroom is ready!! Nothing else is yet, but the bedroom is ready.

Thanks for the new thread Mar... I was fanning myself from the heat before I came here... Now I'm in total meltdown!

Personally, I don't think Michael Jackson ever grew up... Which led to so many misunderstandings... Paul McCartney refers to him as the boy-man. I think that's pretty accurate... MJ often said that 'innocence' was the key to his success and he never let go of his inner child... Even as an adult he loved climbing trees. ... I was looking forward to him performing in London so there would be new dance footage...

Hmmm, I know how to 'pan'! Learned at the diamond mine in Arkansas.

All I need is a place to sleep... Puh-lease don't worry about anything else!... I just want to spend time away from here, with you... I don't care if we wash windows and clean carpets! But I definitely want to go fishing.

I'm really looking forward to some cooler weather too! It's been in the upper 90s since last week on Thursday, supposed to hit 100 tomorrow. Lows have been in the upper 70s, low 80s.

I wish more of you could do lunch on Wed... It's been a long time since I've seen you guys.

Later,

Hey Now Caps!!

True story: I was at Happy Hour last night with some coworkers and I literally said to someone "I wonder who the third famous person is going to be? Famous people all seem to die in multiples of three" Then I look on Twitter and TMZ has pronounced MJ dead! WOW!!! First of all, it is a sad day when TMZ of all media breaks the news first. Seriously?!?! TMZ over the Washington Post, New York Times or LA Times?!?!? Second of all, it is pretty sad. I remember being a little kid and dancing Thriller all the time. One of my friends put it best when she said that the death of MJ is my generations Elvis or Lennon dying. Crazy!

LTL-I was totally thinking about mentioning all the travelling in the new title but for whatever reason...that popped in my head and I ran with it!!! Then sat here and drooled!

Um...yeah...I don't know if you're going to get much of a break here. The DC area can get really muggy thanks to the humidity in the summer. I think the worse of it is August so maybe you'll be lucky.

Hmmm...where are you guys going to lunch at? Maybe I can make a quick appearance. I'll be working so much overtime next week that I don't think one long lunch break will kill me. LEt me know and I'll talk to TPTB.

Off to do more work. Don't want to spend all night in the office tonight!

Mar: I have to do some research because that place we went to a couple of times closed down, and Scottie is out of town, so I can't ask her. jero and I will check some things out (Internet-wise) and I'll let you know this weekend. We're going to meet at noon wherever it is, and we'll probably only have an hour or so.

Oh that's a good day to fly, hopefully it won't be crowded. I slept on my nonstop to London which was great and I had the window I hope you get to stop in London and get in some sights

The warmer weather is finally coming back to SoCal. We have had 60 degree weather here this month which is weird!

Got a bonus at work today It's not much but its still going to help. Planning to get my hair cut this weekend, its long overdue!

M&M: I've tried to check out restaurants on the Internet and haven't been doing too well. Some of the listings are out-of-date because I know the places don't exist anymore. The Post Pub at 1422 L St. is kind of a dive, but in a nice way. Scottie and I have eaten there a couple of times. There's an Au Bon Pain and a Lunch Box listed around 17th and L, but do they have enough places to sit and talk? Have you had a chance to scope anything out?

LTL There is a POTBELLY right across the street from me. It has some outside seating but it is VERY busy. On 19th and L there is a pretty big Corner Bakery with a LARGE outside eating area. I'm not sure what the weather is calling for on Wednesday but I would say an outside eating area would be better to actually talk.

Um..okay. I do remember there is The Bottom Line and Cafe Asia around that area. HAve you checked out yelp.com to see what else is in that area? It's a 30 minute train ride for me into the city and out so if I can go, I'll probably be in and out pretty fast but I'm not sure yet. My dept. mgr wants to have a department lunch meeting and he's debating between Wednesday and Thursday.. I'll have to see.

Jen-I have a nonstop to Frankfurt but I'll be going to London from the 19th through the 21st...I believe. My stuff is at home.

Countdown is on! I have 4 working days and Friday is my last minute day and Saturday is just to relax and be ready...I can't believe its almost time!!!!

Yay, a new thread! Maybe i can keep up with this one.

I just got back from OBX. It was a great trip, as usual. I'm going to upload some pics to my shutterfly http://mooreinspired.shutterfly.com/ (i put some on FB too for those on there).

I started work today. I'm working summer school. FUN! I came home with the biggest headache. I only have to work three weeks, though, and then the kids and I are headed to FL.

Sounds like all of you have plans during the summer. I'll try to come on more to check up on news.

Hey, RosMouse, good to see you. Nice you're working, and nice it's only for 3 weeks.

M&M: Shoot -- it was supposed to be nice on Wed., but now they're calling for a 30% chance of thunderstorms. Let's see what they say tomorrow (Tuesday). Otherwise it would be nice to eat outside.

Mar: Tell your boss you have urgent business on Wed. -- you need a Caps fix!

Hey, from LTL's sofa! She out-fished me today!!! I'm having a fantastic time... I got to meet all of LTL's brothers and sisters except one... They're all very nice & friendly. ... I watched her brother catch crabs from his pier... He cooked them and gave me a lesson on how to eat them. You can't get any fresher than that!
