Ugh, it's just so sad! So much history gone in a matter of minutes/a couple of hours D:

My heart breaks over Notre Dame I have no words. I saw the beautiful catheridal in the summer of 2000. I even have a beautiful painting I got on that trip from a local steet artist when I was in Paris of Paris along the river with Notre Dame in the background. As a practing Catholic it has even more meaning because it is Holy Week.

My thoughts and prayers are with Paris!

I hope no one was hurt in the fire and that Notre Dame can be rebuilt and be reborn!

So awful, I couldn’t believe I was seeing those images yesterday. The cultural significance of such a beautiful piece of architecture and for it to happen at the beginning of Holy Week....I was at music practice last night and our director was waiting on word if they were able to save the organ housed inside. He went on to say it is the most amazing one he’s ever seen.

The whole nation is in shock. President Macron said that we will rebuild it. It will take décades and billions but we will rebuild it. There are already 750 millions euros promised by a few french multinational companies and billionaires. The french people will give money, too. I'm unemployed and I will give money. My father is an athee and he will give money.

I have no words. One anecdote: there is a saying in the french language, that we use when we are waiting for someone or Something, and it's taking too long, we say: "Je vais pas attendre 107 ans". Meaning "I'm not going to wait for 107 years". It's a very common thing to say.

And it dates back to… the building of the Notre Dame. Because it took 107 years to build the main monument, I learned that on tv. I didn't know that, I never questioned where the saying came from, weird, huh? That it took so long to build that it took roots in the french psyche and language !


Thank you so much for your kind words, it's really nice of you to think about this beautiful monument and our pain and loss over this amazing part of french history and culture.

Watching the spire fall was just so weird

Yes, it was really heartbreaking to Watch that happening live on tv. But it will be rebuilt, that's the good news. Now, 5 years, as Macron said? A bit ambitious. We'll see. It's not the first time that Notre Dame suffers. But this time, it was this close to be game over for the old lady. The firemen said that they fought to save the two towers because if they had burned and collapsed, the entire building was gone. 15 more minutes of this fire and it was gone. Hundreds of firemen fought to save the towers.

Luckily they saved a ton of art and relics, right?

Yes, the relics and most of the paintings were saved, because there had been a plan made years before about what to save first in case of a fire. A priest fought to save relics and firefighters fought, too. Now is the time to think about rebuilding. Who would have thought that I would live in a time where a cathedral would be built? Okay, partly built and from an existing one but the building of cathedrals is a thing of the middle age, not the 21rst century.

Well, except for the Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona.

Sigh, okay, back to Michael and Maria. Michael and skiing, what do you think? I Don't know why I thought about that. Maybe because the thought of Michael on skis is funny? I Don't see him being good at it.

My thoughts and prayers are with Paris during this time of Easter week. I know it will take a long time to rebuild Notre Dame but it has to give you hope that great things are happening and new life is on it's way. Hang in there!

Just like Michael and Maria great things happened to them and together they both built a new life through their love.

I remember a little fic I had suggested and that someone had written, about how Michael and Maria had only daughters, four of them and that Michael felt overwhelmed by all this féminine energy in his home while Kyle had sons and he was so envious .

Doesn’t Brenden Fehr in real life have all daughters??! Michael with all girls would be fun to read! Thinking about Michael’s hair from S1 he would definitely be the expert on use of hairspray and gel!

I Don't know, you'll have to ask someone else. But that's funny if true, since I had that idea about M&M having only daughters years and years ago. It was based on little women, only girls in the house.
