I really loved Xena more than Hercules but I think that was because she spent the series trying to redeem herself from her exploits before she 'became a hero'. Etc.

100% plus Lucy and reneè are absolute gems, and Kevin is basically trash half the time. So makes it 10x better straight away

I don't think Kevin is trash, but there was more story to build on with Xena and what she'd done in her past.
