Wonder if the MCU will bother trying Dark Phoenix again, considering they've basically already done it (better than Fox ever did) with Scarlet Witch in WandaVision.

I'm not sure if they will go in that direction again. You can't endlessly repeat things I suppose.

I wish The MCU would do The Dark Phoenix Saga (cause I'm sure they would really do it right) but they probably won't touch it again since Fox did it and screwed it up twice already SMH. I can't wait to see what they do with The X Men in general when they finally get started with it though.

People can debate the subjective quality of the XMCU's individual installments until they're blue in the face, but it's currently still the longest-running continuous Superhero film franchise in history, and made far more money overall than it lost, with only 2 of its 13 films failing to turn a profit.

The bigger the MCU gets, the harder it'll be for them to do things that don't feel repetitive. If they do Dark Phoenix, they need to highlight what sets Jean apart from Wanda. If they do Doctor Doom/Latveria, they have to show what makes them different from Namor/Talokan, which are already very similar to Black Panther/Wakanda.
Since Wanda is known for her trauma and instability, maybe MCU Jean can be characterized as being very in control, but exhausted by the constant pressure of having to keep her powers in check. Like how Superman has to walk on eggshells every waking moment of his life because the minute he forgets his own strength, someone could die. Talokan and Wakanda were both introduced as kingdoms that hid themselves from the rest of the world, to explain why nobody heard of them before. Marvel can't use that excuse a third time with Latveria, which is one of the reasons I'm a fan of the idea that Latveria is the original name of the country that became known as Sokovia during Soviet rule. This solution is rich with exciting story possibilities and is a more organic way of introducing an important new country, giving Doom roots in an earlier Phase (like Shang-Chi's connection to the Ten Rings), and Marvel aren't doing anything with Sokovia anyway. Further contrast could be drawn from how the Talokanil and Wakandans escaped ethnic persecution, but the Romani in Latveria didn't. Or how Namor and the Black Panther are the royal ancestral protectors of their people and their home, whereas Doom was born a lowly gypsy and starts off trying to reunite his people and get their home back. Marvel could also emphasize how Latveria depends on Doom's sorcery, because they don't have vibranium. Wanda and Zemo could be used to give different insights on Doom's actions in Latveria, from the perspectives of a commoner orphaned in previous wars, and a former royal who led a death squad during those wars. One of the great things about the Sokovia=Latveria idea is that we would already have two well-established Latverian characters ready to go for a Doom story. __________________

I don't personally care about what Marvel Studios chooses to do with the X-Men in the MCU, and think it's a mistake to have explicitly branded Deadpool 3 (which I don't care that much about in and of itself) an MCU film proper.

They will think of a way (Just like when people wondered why Spiderman wasn't around to help The Avengers fight in New York) I'm looking forward to what they come up with lol.
